Takata recall i have had a takata air bag recall on my vehicle since may 2016. i have contacted the local dealership and the chevrolet manufacturer for repairs and they continue to tell me parts are not available for repair. i have also filed a claim on the takata airbag inflator claim and notification center hosted by prime clerk llc. i cannot sell my vehicle to a private party because of the air bag recall. it is taking way too long for repairs and this is causing a hardship. this is a major safety issue and parties need to be held accountable for their slow and unresponsive actions.

Air bags light is on called the recall chevy letter they sent to me no help it has been since 05/2016 and still no help for recall on air bag
Started getting an "service srs system" dic notification and srs. i was able to narrow down the cause to opening the drivers side front door. used a scan tool to read the codes and it was throwing code b0085 symptom 00 which is a side impact sensor. replaced side impact sensor and issues persist with the same symptoms. i was directed by a few mechanics that chevrolet had changed the gauge of the wires and they have seen multiple failures within the shielding which does not have any signs of wear. using an ohm meter i tested out the sensor wires and sure enough when the door is closed the wire has contact however if it moves at all it breaks creating an open loop. i have looked over every inch of the harness and there is zero signs of wear on the protective cover, tape, or even the wire insulator itself.

At the top left corner of the passenger side air bag there is a crack in the dash board. i am concerned that in the case of the airbag deploying it will send hard plastic across the entire cab, or that the air bag may be prematurely deployed due to lack of support.
Takata recall-airbags since may 2016 no solution.
Takata inflators - remedy not available at dealerships. my airbag light is on
Plastic dash has cracks around airbag and above steering column. if i was to have a accident and the airbag deployed there would be plastic shrapnel deployed throughout the vehicle.
Takata recalled
My dashboard has cracked from the airbag to the windshield defrost vent.
Both side air bags deployed without an impact or accident while driving down the highway. gm has been no help in the matter, and cannot find an explanation as to why the airbags would deploy.
I have cracks on my passenger side airbag, and over my instrument cluster. this is a well known issue, and i'm sure that if my airbag went off, the plastic would become shrapnel.
Dash crack at airbag on 2010 silverado crew cab truck. possible plastic shrapnel in event of airbag deployment.
While on my way to the cancer centers of america located in atlanta, i noticed the oil gauge needle kept moving below the middle, when i returned home took to chevy dealership that changed sensor and gasket kit. still having problem with vehicle. chevy dealer stated that, that's what the needle does...i've had the oil changed and still same problem.....i also noticed that when you turn on the 4x4 button it doesn't show the 4x4 emblem on the dash board.....also addressed with dealer they said it doesn't show on dash board...another problem that just happened is that it's stating to service air bag...i own a chevy trail blazer 2004 and have never had these problems not with oil gauges, seat belt sensors nor 4x4 emblems on the dash.....my husband and i bought the vehicle on nov 2014 with 96,000 miles on it the chevy dealer here says that these are normal....i feel that these are not normal, because you don't know if you have oil in the truck, the air bag is faulty and can't tell if your driving on 4x4....please check into these things....i appreciate your attention.
My dash on my truck has cracks in the dash by the airbag and above the gauge cluster. i am worried if chevrolet does not do a voluntary recall on this there is a chance that the airbag may not function properly.
Cracks have formed along the dash board on both the driver and passenger side without any sort of event happening that would lead the cracks forming such as an accident, etc. the cracks on the passenger side are around the passenger airbag that seems to be an safety issues if the airbag deploys. the cracks lead to sharp edges that could either break off and cause sharp plastic pieces to fly at the passenger in the event of airbag deployment or the sharp edges may puncture the airbag causing it to not perform as needed to protect the passenger. after talking to the chevrolet body shop and reading several other complaints, this issue is common not only in the silverado but according to the body shop manager, it stretches across all gm platforms such as the escalade.
Cracked dash, involving the passenger side airbag
Dashboard cracked on driver side and runs over to air bag on passenger side if air bag deploys cracked dash could deflate air bag my dealer nor general motors would help said they would fix for $1100.00 dollars this is a safety defect
The dashboard has cracked at the upper inboard corner of passenger airbag door. this could cause a safety hazard upon airbag deployment by creating debris within the passenger and driver area. dealer does not see it as a problem but every vehicle i have looked at lately exhibts the same condition.
About two years into owning this truck, (purchased brand new from dealer), the dashboard cracked at the corner of the passenger side airbag. there was no incident which caused the dashboard to crack. nothing hit it, no accident, etc. this is a potential hazard and it seems to be a recurring problem for many chevrolet owners. i took it in to the dealer and they said it wasn't covered by any warranty. how is it okay for gm to know about a defect with many of their vehicles and not have to assume responsibility for fixing it??
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet silverado 1500. the contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the side air bags deployed independently. the manufacturer was notified and sent an investigator to further inspect the vehicle. after the investigation, it was determined that there was an instability issue. the manufacturer offered no further assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileages were 34,000.
The dashboard around the instrument cluster as well as the passenger side airbag has developed large cracks due to poor made products or poor manufacturing processes. due to the explosive nature of the airbags as well as the location of the cracks on the dashboard, i fear the airbag will go off in a front end collision causing sharp plastic pieces from the dashboard to unnecessarily injure me and/ or my passengers.
Shortly after purchasing my 2010 silverado a small crack appeared on the dash by the corner of the passenger air bag. a month or so later another crack developed above the instrument cluster that is now (years later) a foot in length. there is a 3rd crack developing. i have 3 friends with similar trucks and these cracks occurred in the identical spot on their dashs. it has to be a risk to the airbag, or in any front impact. these cracks are sharp and right in the driver and passengers face. after searching online i have discovered it is a widespread issue.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet silverado 1500. the contact stated while driving 55 mph, he crashed into two cows and the air bags did not deploy. the vehicle was in the process of being taken to an authorized dealer to have the failure diagnosed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 28,000.
Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet silverado 1500. the contact received a takata settlement notice. the contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated and remained lit when the vehicle was turned on. the dealer was contacted (ron baker chevrolet in national city, ca, 619-677-6363) and the air bag was repaired, but the failure recurred. the contact was not notified of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
Takata recall no parts available at dealers so we are sitting out here with time bombs. if chevy in this case can't get parts, they need to make their own. this isn't rocket science, it's about $ vs lives. force the mfgs to fix this problem and be liable for any injuries.
After talking to gm i am worried about driving my truck. they told me that i have bad air bags but they are not going to do anything about fixing it. this is wrong to let this to go on and nothing is being done about this unsafe problem. i am going to have my air bags unhooked so i feel driving my truck again i do not want to get hurt my an unsafe airbag. i am mad that the nstsa is not making my truck to be fixed by gm. gm put the airbags in they should take them out and replace them with safe airbags. something has to done to make this unsafe airbag address and stop people from getting hurt. i am very upset about this. i got a card in the mail about my unsafe airbags in my truck but nothing is being done about it. make gm fix this unsafe problem

Takata recall. currently no resolution. dealer will do nothing.
Dash is cracked over the air bags. in case of accident, cracked dash pieces will be projected into cabin of vehicle causing injury or death.
