My truck with involved in an accident and hit a tree head on and the air bags did not deploy. my brother was injured with head trauma and dislocated hip and broken bones my brother hit black ice and it threw him off the road into a tree.
Please note my vehicle was not in an accident. i received an airbag recall notice via the mail this past summer and i checked to see whether or not my vehicle qualifies for this recall via the airbagrecall.com website and it does. i contacted my local chevrolet dealer a few times since receiving this notice this past summer, but each time they have informed me that i will receive a second letter notifying me of when the parts will be available. my concern is the www.airbagrecall.com website states this needs to be taken care of by november 1, 2018 in order for my vehicle to qualify for this airbag replacement. please direct me on next step information along with timing for when this replacement can be made.
My family was involved with a collision with a guardrail at 45 degrees angle to the driver's side front. drivers bag did not deploy, passengers airbag smoked but did not deploy. thank god for seatbelts. the collision was at 65 mpg

Takata recall i haven't received a letter for repair on the passenger side of my vehicle and i am getting concerned because i have already reported. i do not know why is taking too long to fix the problem , i have been worried that the air bag might explode because of weather heat we are having in my area. please let me know when the problem will be fixed. thanks.
Takata recall: upon receipt of the recall notice, i have been contacting gm about this. the standard answer i have been given each time is that a 'repair is not yet available' along with 'lack of available replacement parts'. now the call center told me that they are replacing the airbags but due to the number of affected vehicles that it is going to take a very long time and i cannot just go to my local dealership for the repair and that i must wait for the letter to come in the mail to get the airbags replaced. i plan to call my local dealership to see if they have a different perspective. if the vin shows needing replacement, one should be able to the dealership for immediate replacement of a potentially life threatening device. there nhtsa shouldn't allow any "petition of inconsequentiality" when it comes to life saving decisions, tell the oem to replace 100%, no exceptions.

Takata recall--i have been trying to get my airbags fixed since the recall started and am told each time by the dealer that it has no parts. there are three recalled vehicles in my family, two fords and this cheverolet. none has been fixed because the dealers state they do no have the parts. what are we to do?
Takata recall--i called (11/7/17) my chevy dealership as soon as i received the "important legal notice for owners of vehicles with takata airbag inflators" to schedule an appointment per instruction on postcard. my chevy dealer says the parts to repair the airbags are not available yet. the original recall letter came out in 2016. i am concerned as the postcard mentions personal injury or death. please advise.
Takata recall this from safercar.gov: if the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the nhtsa vehicle safety hotline at: 1-888-327-4236 or tty: 1-800-424-9153 or file an online complaint with nhtsa. i would like to complain that this issue has not been resolved. there has to be some solution that will help the owners of these vehicles instead of, let's see what happens to you and your loved ones. i would rather have no airbag than one with the probably of killing the people in the front seats, according to the warnings put out on these airbags. deactivation of the airbag would be a better solution than doing nothing. where is the common sense in this situation? if you or someone you love were behind the wheel of one of these vehicles, wouldn't you want someone to do something instead of taking the chance of getting murdered by something that is supposed to help save your life?
Takata recall dealerships locally still say they do not have air bags to replace...been waiting since 2016...we need to get this done
