Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that while driving at any speed, the instrument panel flashed off and on. in addition, the contact attempted to make a turn and the steering lost power. the service warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer at: george matick chevrolet, 313-531-7100, where a multi point inspection was performed and the power steering module was also reprogrammed. the failure recurred. the same dealer was contacted and a diagnostic testing was recommended but not completed. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall and referred the contact to the nhtsa. the failure mileage was 63,060.

While getting on the expressway the car cut off on the ramp while going 24mph. i was unable to turn on hazard lights, nothing at all would work. i could not immediately restart the car. i could not remove the key either. i had to wait approximately 3 mins for the car to light up and then i could restart the car. on the way home on the ramp on the expressway the car lost power steering and jerked to the left. the enigine did not stop this time. in this case fortunately there were no injuries.

Purchased this 2013 malibu lt in august of 2016. after about a month, i started experiencing power failure and power steering loss while driving. on some occasions, the electrical issues and power failure is triggered by engaging the turn signal. searched youtube and discovered that dozens of other 2013 malibu owners are experiencing the exact same issue. the scary part of this issue is that the car stalls out completely without warning while driving at any given speed. and when this happens, the power steering goes out as well. this has happened about a dozen times since about a month after purchase august 2016; the last experience was on this past friday, july 7, 2017.this is very dangerous as i have already experienced two near-miss accidents. i've read several posts of others who have spent money on diagnosis and repairs only to discover that the problem reoccurs. i don't have the money to waste on fruitless repairs as i'm still paying a note plus full coverage insurance on this vehicle. i don't know how many complaints that it will take for something to be done about this serious problem, but something needs to be done in a hurry.

When driving the car the radio panel, air conditioning, control panel and power steering goes out. when driving over 45 mph on the highway, the engine will not stop. however, when driving 45 mph or below on city streets, the car will shut completely off and i will have to restart the car. everything goes complete off. this has been an ongoing issue for several months now. the car has had this issue while in traffic and i was hit from behind. fortunately, we were pulling off from a stop light and the impact was not enough to cause an injury. i have researched on youtube and online and there are several other consumers with this exact same issue. also, the check engine light never comes on but it does say service power steering and service stabili trak. sometimes when the car is not moving (parked) it will also cut off. once, i went to start the car and it would not start and it would not allow me to remove the key. i tried making sure the car was in park (which i knew it was because it had been parked for hours) but nothing would move. i almost had it towed and then out the blue everything popped on. chevrolet advised that they "think" it could be the battery cables and the fuse box but cannot guarantee that this will fix the issue. i have already paid 167.00 for them to "tighten" the cables and tell me what they "think" may be the issue. i also have video of the car while having this issue but it is not in the format allowed for upload. the last time it had this issue was today 07/28/2017.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. while the vehicle was operated, the steering column seized without warning. the vehicle was taken to the long hammer auto dealer for the ignition switch. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was returned to the dealer, but a diagnosis was not determined. the contact stated that the failure occurred approximately eight times. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

I have a 13 malibu ltz but as i'm driving the car completely shuts off and comes back on in the middle of me driving. i had it sent to a shop they diagnosed it but found nothing said the key was possibly a problem. i went to the dealership and got a new key so for a month or so the issue was fine. i started driving again and as i have my blinkers on i'm getting ready to turn and the car shuts off again.. i'm in 5pm traffic this is scary but as the car shut off the wheel lock it cuts right back on. i took it to the dealership and they said my battery since it wasn't changed in awhile so i have the battery replaced. the car was fine now two months later it did it all over again.. i'm getting ready to turn and again everything shuts off in the middle of driving then cuts back on. i'm very frustrated i pay a car note and insurance and i don't have money to get this problem fixed.. there are soooo many complaints i just wish it would be recalled and fixed. it's very dangerous when this car shuts off in the middle of driving when there are other cars around. i'm scared to drive it but it's my only car and i'm paying notes on it. if i had the money to trade it in i would!! this all happened on a city street when there's cars and traffic .. sometimes it happens when i'm driving but mostly every time when i'm turning. everything shuts off the whole car it's scary.

While driving in town the turning signal blinks with no sound then the screen goes black the power steering goes out. i have seen over 50 complaints on line regarding this issue and gm issued a recall but not on the 2013. i believe the original recall is listed as 14v-153 additional models/years were added under 14772 ... there are also additional day this happened also 4/29 & 05/01/2017

While driving and going to change lanes, i turn on my turn signal to change lanes and the power steering stops working, the dash gauges flicker and the radio cuts out and sometimes the motor cuts off. this also occurs when sitting still, the steering wheel will bounce if turning one direction or the other. i have seen many of these complaints online and no resolution. this also happens while turning. this happens every day.

Turning left into my driveway, (luckily not going very fast) the power steering goes out several times in a row and then the screen prompted to "service power steering". checked fluid level and it was fine. read that there are a lot of others with this same problem. my children could get hurt! and i paid too much money for this car to be unable to drive it and feel good about it! smh!!

My 2013 malibu keeps having power steering failure. the power steering light flashed and stayed on. at the same time it lock the steering wheel while driving. i see this is a major problem happening with the malibu 2013 models and owners have been complaining about this defect to the dealers. not sure if there has been any recalls on this; however, the defects are causing people driving the malibu to have accidents because the power steering locks as soon as the power steering light is displayed. the car also seems to stall a bit when the light comes on. the wheels are locked and i cannot turn the wheels at all until it unlocks on its own. *tr

Several times now the car radio and electrical has just shut off . shortly there after --- the steering locked up while driving. such that there was an inability to maintain control, and the steering wheel was unable to be moved at all. this happened multiple times. this vehicle was purchased for my daughter and my grandchildren. thus safety is a major concern. if indeed my daughter were to have been in a busy intersection when this happened today, she or my grandchildren could have easily been killed. chevrolet dealer refuse to do anything without a recall and have said that the diagnostic would be $100.00 to perform. in my 30 years of driving experience and my husbands 22 years of active duty army service and many mechanical fixes that we have done to numerous vehicles we have never seen something as dangerous that a manufacturer would refuse to recall. this is a huge safety issue and god forbid anything happens to my daughter or my grandchildren there is now documentation to request chevrolet fix the problem, as i will be sure to hold them accountable for their negligence. we have maintained proper maintenance, there are no fault codes that have come up that will indicate an issue that would cause the steering to just lock up straight. we had the battery checked, the battery terminals checked and we keep trying to narrow down the cause. but we are now at an impasse and this is most certainly a manufacturer's defect. this is an issue that we have found on multiple forums in common with other owners. vehicle was in motion, mid turn, city street, and unable to make the turn . would have crashed had been going faster, or had other cars been coming . *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. while driving various speeds, the rpms decreased and the vehicle stalled. the vehicle would only restart after receiving a jump start. in addition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and battery charge, stability track, and service power steering warning messages appeared on the instrument panel display. the contact mentioned that the failures occurred on several occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 61,212.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing power loss and loss of power steering. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 57,700.

2013 chevrolet malibu (lt) has been experiencing serve electrical issues. this highly dangerous defect i have been experiencing as well yet there is no recall! first the my link/navigation/radio module would shut off and come back on. while this occurs, the battery voltage would jump down then jump back up. i called chevy/gmc and they recommended to shut the car off, remove the key, open the driver side door so the computer can reset itself. it continued to happy through the course of couple hours then finally stopped and was working from over the course of 4 days. as of yesterday the vehicle completely shut off, entire touchscreen module shut off, and turned back on in a split second. once the car turned on, the steering wheel was completely tight, almost locked, and we would barely turn into our driveway while in motion on a 25pm street. thank god i was not coming off a highway or driving fast like reports of this issue like other consumers but this is dangerous. i am terrified of this vehicle and will be taking it to chevy. there are over a hundred complaints and videos i saw after i looked up if this issue was common, which it appears to be, online. this issue needs to be on the recall list because this can cause accidents and someone can get seriously injured.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. while the contact's son was driving various speeds, the power steering failed to turn left or right and the instrument panel lighting automatically turned off without warning. the contact's son pulled over to the side of the road and waited 8-10 seconds. afterwards, the vehicle returned to normal. the contact's son was able to drive to work and back home. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (serpentini chevrolet of strongsville, 15303 royalton rd, strongsville, oh 44136), but the failure could not be duplicated. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure recurred several other times. the vehicle was taken to another dealer (pat o'brien chevrolet south, 3880 pearl rd, medina, oh 44256) where it was diagnosed that the alternator needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the failure occurred again after the repair. the manufacturer was contacted at 866-790-3600 and stated that they were unaware of the issue and the contact would have to pay for the repairs. case number: 8-314031920 was provided. the approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

While driving the radio and interior lights go out and power steering stops working. seems to happen when left blinker is used. headlights will flicker when this happens also. there is no warning prior to shutdown. one occurrence car completely shut off on its own after power surge. very unsafe to drive this vehicle, i almost hit a parked car because of this failure. it happens on highway or neighborhood. car is parked at dealership til problem can be resolved. odometer has 53,000 miles on it. *tr

Vehicle moving on city street, lost power to radio, navigation system, etc., then lost steering. lost steering while making u-turn. lost steering in forward and reverse while parking vehicle. power to control panels shut down during both incidents. occurred briefly on highway while traveling at high rate of speed. the loss of power and steering has become more frequent and lasting for a longer period of time. vehicle is now at dealership for same issue. i purchased vehicle 3 months ago. my 17 y/o son uses this vehicle and i am concerned about his safety. i looked into this problem on the web and discovered that this has been an ongoing problem with this make and model. i received a phone call from the dealership where my car is being serviced. they cannot find a problem. this was expected based on what i have read. i find it hard to believe that they have never heard of this happening before especially since gm has recalled earlier models with the same problem but refuse to do anything about the 2013. you cannot understand the nervousness you feel before getting into the driver's seat unless you have experienced this yourself. for gm and dealership to knowingly allow a person to purchase this vehicle and drive off their lot with a serious issue such as this is mind blowing. *tr

My car initially started with the radio and touch screen powering off for a few seconds. then, i was driving and went to make a left turn, the radio power went off as well as the steering wheel locked up, again only for a few seconds. now, when it happens (it's happening more frequently), the headlights and dash lights flicker as well as the radio power shuts off and the steering locks up. it all only lasts around 4-5 seconds, but can be very dangerous at the wrong time. i took it to the dealer who could not reproduce the problem, in which i explained it's sporadic and unpredictable. this is becoming a safety issue and more frightening that dealerships are unaware of the issue or how to fix it. gm really needs to do something about this before it causes a serious accident. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that the while turning the steering wheel, the steering wheel would lock and there would be an abnormal noise without warning intermittently. the contact took the vehicle to holiday automotive sales located at 321 n rolling meadows dr, fond du lac, wi 54937, where they were unable to determine the failure. the failure would continue to occur on several occasions. the contact also stated that while driving a 50 mph and turning the steering wheel to the left into a curve, the steering wheel locked without warning. as a result, the vehicle crashed into a ditch. no injuries or damages occurred due to the failure and the police were not called. the contact was able to drive the vehicle at a steady 20 mph to heiser chevrolet located at 2620 w washington st, west bend, wi 53095 where the vehicle remained in their possession and provided a loaner vehicle. the manufacturer was notified about the failure and filed a case with the manufacturer, the contact had yet to hear back from the manufacturer. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

While driving down the highway first the windshield wipers quit during a down pour, the anti traction was malfunctioning on the screen then said anti theft system needed service then the steering went out and locked the car down. all of this happened while the car remained running. was very scary. have done some research and it appears gm is aware of a problem. the car is currently at the dealership. no known reason why yet although the dealership stated it did this to them when they were trying to pull it in the garage. gm needs to figure this out and issue a recall before there is serious injury including possible death the car was in motion on a highway when this occurred

I got my car 6 months ago, and now my car steering wheel locked , and lost battery voltage , i'm getting message to service wheel steering system ann battery charge system

The check engine light comes on and stays on - when checked at the dealer they told me no code found for two years, then as time went on it started adding service power steering and ac/dc shut down. after numerous visits to the dealer and two major repairs, the check engine light still comes on, and the power steering locks up. on august 24, 2016, i was driving 50+ mph on a curvy road when the check engine light came on, followed immediately by the service power steering, followed by something stabilizer, followed by ac/dc shut down, to engine overheated idle engine. the power steering locked up and i was unable to steer the car and ran off the road. the car was towed to the dealer who had just worked on the car for the second time in a month, and they found no codes - no surprise! i complained to chevy for the third time at corporate level and they had denied my claim as being safety related. i find it hard to believe that a car you suddenly can't steer isn't considered a safety issues. i also find it hard to believe that chevy can't recognize that there is a problem with the 2013 malibu. how many people have to die before they address this issue? also, why are they waiting on codes when the problem is most likely an electrical/computer problem. if the computer isn't working its no surprise that the warnings are not throwing a code! common sense! also, a car doesn't throw warning lights and check engine lights without something setting it off! hence you have a problem!

On numerous occasions my 2013 malibu has lost power causing a steering issue. it could be while driving, turning, stopping or accelerating. the car will lose power to the touch screen radio causing the screen to go black, then i lose the steering momentarily and then everything will come back on. this can happen once or sometimes it continues to happen which causes the service stabilitrack warning light to come on or the service power steering light to come on. this has also led to the car stalling and losing all electricity and then starting back up right away. the more electronics you use such as the blinker causes the problem to get worse and usually ends up in the car stalling. i have taken it to the dealer four separate times for this issue and nothing has been fixed. i have not had my car more than a week since august 22,2016 because i refuse to drive the car until it is fixed. the dealer is focusing on my after market remote starter which is wrong seeing there are many of the same occurrences listed on tis website.

While driving car instrument panel turns off, after which steering locks up and brakes become inoperable. instrument panel turns off for seconds, then as the instrument panel turns back on, all messages on instrument panel flash (ie engine light, low battery, etc). most common message is about stabilink. even after instrument panel turns back on, the steering wheel will remain stiff and hard to move until you leave the car off for an extended period of time. there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the problem, other than driving it. i've had it happen in stop and go traffic where i'm going from not moving to at max 5 mph, i've had it happen on an empty highway going 65 mph, i've had it happen two minutes into my drive, and i've had it happen 40 minutes into my drive. steering wheel does not always lock up in the middle of a turn, but most frequently it happens when making a sharp turn. i have video of the occurrence of the steering wheel and what happens to the instrument panel but am unable to upload it. i've tried to get the whole thing on video but it really just depends on if someone is in the car with me or if my phone was at the ready and i'm in a safe environment to record. it's scary enough to have the steering and brakes be useless to me, so my focus is usually more on controlling the car.

While driving, all of the sudden the raio/ screen goes out, steering locks up! has happened right after started, day & night, may be fine for an hour to 4 or 5 hours, never know! has happened when turning, very dangerous! i've almost had 4-5 accidents due to this problem! chevys says they haven't had any knowledge! dought this, complaints all over the internet. this started around 45,000 ruth just the radio /screen going off for a few seconds, by 60,000 started effecting the steering! i now have 80,000 miles on car. this needs quick attention from ntsb , wonder if any deaths from this? help!

Our 2103 chevy malibu "loses electrical power and power steering" whuile being driven. this is now happening even more frequently. the dash and steering, etc goes blank and resets after a few seconds. this is happening more often and is dangerous. i see on the internet that dozens or hundreds of other 2013 malibu owners are having the same problem. some have had accidents as a result. my mechanic is not able to find an error code, nor to fix, and it seems like neither gm nor the other mechanics are able to fix either. this happens in a variety of movement settings, slow speed, high speed, turning and not, etc. this last happened 5+ times the evening of july 31.

My vehicle has 49000 miles on it while driving i loose power steering...the steering wheel locks up.. radio turns off...and the dash lights go off... after a second i get power back and control.. i have almost had head on collisions a 2 occasions.. i also had my steering completely lock while parked.. and as with before my radio went off and would not turn back on until i turned the car off and back on.... this is a hazard and someone will be injured or killed if this problem is not addressed... i have had it in the dealer for this and they informed me i had 13 plus warnings pop up on diegnostics, however, they found no problem and reset the computer... 3 days later the problem came back...

I have a malibu eco boost. on june 23, 2015 i was driving on 96 and the charging system failure light came on the car began to shut down. the power steering went out. i was able to pull over on the shoulder but the keys could not be removed from the ignition. i had it towed to graff chevrolet andthey said the only thing they could find wrong was a speedsensor. the guy tom said i could come get my vehicle at 8pm since thepart was enroute. i drove over 80 miles to get there at8 and my car wasn't ready but the guy said i cold take it with me. i did not.they fixed that then said it was a right wheel hub.i know these two things havenothing to do with the charging system. tookmy car home and the same thinghappened on the holiday july 4th.why didn't thecomputer or the mechanic detect a problem with the charging system.

These problems occurred on paved or concrete city streets. at least once last month and 3 times this month i experienced transient episodes of what i categorize as power steering failure while driving. three of these times were at reduced speeds less than 20 mph during a turn and once traveling 65 mph down a straight section of the highway. on two of the turning events i managed to avoid head on collisions with other vehicles at the intersection/parking entrance. these episodes are short durations and may be characterized by sudden stiffness in the wheel, jerking to one side or what seems like a power steering failure. on the last event today a power loss to my console was noted. needless to say, this is a very dangerous problem and given my near misses in the short time i have owned this car, i have to wonder how many other owners of this problem were out there that are no longer able to complain about it. on a safety note, i highly recommend to anyone with this problem to maintain a firm grip with both hands on the wheel when making a turn on a separate note i mentioned that i also had trouble with the tires. this happened yesterday as i was going down the highway in a moderate downpour. the car seemed to lose traction on every puddle i hit. it made for a very scary ride and forced me too carefully reduce speed to a minimum of 45-50mph. this is still very subjective and i still need to have it checked out, but it did not feel like hydroplaning as i know it.

When driving, the car will shut off for about 5 seconds and then come back on fine but the wheel and the brakes lock up. it will randomly do this. it happens on normal side streets as well as on the interstate. i have also had it happen while sitting still in park. the car was turned on but the radio would blink and the air stop and then after about 6 seconds it will start again like normal. however about 4 times it has had major episodes where all of the lights will blink (like i was restarting the car), the wheel locks up, the brakes lock up, the car acts as if it is in neutral and then about 6 seconds it will jerk like it's going into gear and once i pull over and restart it, it may happen again or it may be fine for a while. it has shown on the screen on these 4 times words of "check power steering or stabilitrak warning" it's very scary. i've almost wrecked 3 different times because the wheel locks up and i was in a turn when it did it. the last time it happened i was traveling with my young children and we were almost rear ended by an 18 wheeler on the interstate at rush hour traffic. i feel like i'm driving a death trap. i took it to the shop that the dealer advised me to take it to. they say it is the ecm. the dealership is not willing to pay for it since it's not covered under the manufacturers warranty. i've had this car since october and its been in the shop 5 times for this and overheating. i'm in the process of contacting gm about this issue because i'm not the only one having this trouble. it's extremely scary and it needs to be corrected before someone is seriously hurt. it's a hazard not only to me as the driver and the children that i carry in my car daily, but the other drivers on the road because when it happens its without warning and the car completely locks up.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that the steering seized and the vehicle experienced a loss of electrical functions and power. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the failure could not be replicated. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

2013 chevy malibu continues to power down while driving. radio will shut off then electrical panel and often times it would lose complete power and cause the power steering to shut off. very dangerous. took to dealership 3 times they continue to finagle the negative wiring. but the problem persists. no check engine light; no fix. something is defective and pose rlly chevy can't figure it out. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. while driving various speeds, the electrical system failed. as a result, the power steering seized. the failure recurred numerous times. in addition, the ignition switch failed to release the key and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and the sensor circuit was replaced in the camshaft. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the vin was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the steering column seized without warning. the failure occurred on several occasions. the contact restarted the vehicle but the issue recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 48,000.

Pwer steering stopped for 3 or 4 seconds on a city street as i was making a left turn on to a through street, lucky no cars very close, pulled into a park lot and happened again, lucky no cars close by. this should be recalled, before to late.

Problem 1: driving car at 40mph (on a city street) it begins to overheat, the steering wheel seizes then stalls out repeatedly. take vehicle to chevrolet dealership, technician says need to replace parking brake control module (water intrusion) gm pays 50/50 payment assistance, i paid $417.23. within a week's time several issues arise as indicated below. problem 2: while car is in motion driving the city streets the dash lights and touch screen radio (entire electrical system shuts off) for about 5 seconds then comes back on. the brief box pops up for a few seconds, indicating check power steering, stabilitrak warning light on and parking brake says it's on. all this happened, eight times in ten minutes. then i proceed to make a right hand turn and my steering wheel locks up and i nearly hit a vehicle that was stopped at a stop light. it happens randomly but i did notice when i had the a/c on it happened repeatedly. again vehicle is at chevrolet dealership and unable to recreate the problem, dealing with gm corporate at this time.

I was driving about 70mph on the interstate with the radio and cruise control set and i hit the blinkered to change lanes and the radio and cruise control shut off and i lost power steering for a moment. this happened multiple times. i took it to the dealership and supposedly it was fixed. two days later it did the same thing. sometimes if you roll the window up or down it shuts the radio off. sometimes when you are driving and click the brights on the radio ahuts off and thw entire dash goes black and i lose all power including the steering and the engine revs. sometimes i will be driving at low speeds in town and if i slightly accelerate the radio shuts off. once i was at a stop light and i had my turn signal on to make a left turn and when the light turned green i began to accelerate and the car lost all power and died in the middle of the intersection. too many incidents to go into detail here. has been at the dealership twice and they say there ia nothing wrong with it. i even called gm directly to report the issue and all they did was waive my diagnostic fee and say nothing is wrong and next time it does it to bring it back. i was on my way home from the dealership and it happened again so i guess i'll take it back again in the morning. seems like gm isn't going to do anything about this until someone is seriously injured or killed. i have had this car less than 2 months. i keep reading complaint after complaint about the same issues i am having yet no recall and gm acts like this is the first time they are hearing about this kind of problem.

Power steering goes out and steering wheel jerks when this happens. first radio light all go off, then steering jerks and lose power steering and dash lights go off, then flash. this all lasts 5-10 seconds, then everything is normal. had car to dealer to fix same problem 4 days prior to it happening again. this occurs usually while highway driving and when steering jerks and you lose power steering it is surprising and have almost hit several vehicles while going 55-65mph. sometimes occurs while driving in town and turning, especially turning right. i have also contacted chevy and they tell me they are not aware of any of these problems with these cars. also said they would contact my car dealer and call me back in 2 days. i have heard nothing back from them.

My wife who was 7 months pregnant was driving the vehicle and the steering locked while driving on the highway at 55mph.thank god no one was hurt, also locked at low speed while turning.whent to 2 different chevy dealers who said they couldnt find a problem. contacted chevy usa who advised me there was this type of problem and issued a gm case# 8-1929724465. dealer grand prize chevrolet 11701 sw 152 street miami florida is now trying to charge me for the software repair that gm said would resolve this hazardous defect in their vehicle. still trying to resolve......

There are periods of time when i put my turn signal on and my wheel lock up, the radio turns off and all the power shuts down in the car. the brakes feel like they are locking.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle stalled. after several attempts to turn the vehicle on, once the vehicle was able to start, all the electrical functions malfunctioned. the service stabilitrak warning light illuminated and the vehicle began to shake when being driven. the contact mentioned that the failure would occur when making a sharp turn. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, who was unable to determine the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 72,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet malibu. while driving 35 mph, the electronic power steering failed, which made it difficult to turn the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 38,404.

Actuator did not meet specs it was necessary to replace actuator. this service was done by jim keras chevrolet in memphis tennessee. the covering on the driver seat that protects the seat controls has fallen off, the car has no pick up when depressing the excellerator and makes noise as if the transmission is not changing. i went to vincheck pro and there were 7 recalls specifically electrical system software. i bought this car off the showroom floor of acura of memphis at ridgeway and 385. no one told me of any factory recalls. the money i am spending for this car is already too much and now having so many problems out of a car thats only 2 years old is ridiculous. thanks for listening.

While driving at night went to roll up power windows which in turn caused my headlights to flicker and all dashboard instruments including radio to temporarily stop working. subsequently gets worse which each occurrence. last occurrence automatic headlights came on and subsequently caused loss of power steering and airbag light illuminated. gratefully was able to retain control of car. since first occurrence it has happened at least six times and seems to happen at night or while headlights are on.

The radio shuts off. the climate control goes haywire. and the steering locks up. this has only happened whle the car is stopped. but reading all the hundreds of complaints it seems to happen at any time. this has happened multiple times. something needs to happen immediately before there are fatalities.

I purchased a 2013 certified pre-owned chevrolet malibu from a chevrolet dealership in november of 2014. i was satisfied with my purchase for a few months with no issues until i started having problems with the electrical. my first frightening experience was traveling on the interstate exiting onto a highway via a cloverleaf. while merging onto the highway, i lost all power, including power steering. luckily no one was in the other lane, as my car veered across the line, into the other lane. the power came back on a few seconds later. i brought my car into the dealership where i purchased it, however they were unable to pinpoint the issue. they scanned the vehicles system for error codes, cleared the codes and sent me on my way. since this initial issue, my car loses power randomly while driving, parked, using my turn signal, turning left, turning right, etc. the power steering goes out, the dashboard and vehicle display monitor go black. some instances it will flicker, other times it will shut down completely. i have had it towed from my driveway as i have been unable to turn it on and towed from a retail parking lot. i have had the car inspected by the dealership 4 times and a separate privately owned garage twice, with no resolution. i contacted gm/chevrolet regarding the issue and a case number was given to me. they had me bring my car to a chevrolet dealership. after their inspection, the dealership stated it was the positive battery cable that is malfunctioning. i reached out to chevrolet again about a resolution and they indicated the vehicle is outside of warranty so no repair support will be provided. if this issue would have been resolved within the initial inspection, the certified pre-owned status of my vehicle may have covered repairs. my concern is the larger impact of others experiencing the same issues and getting the same response by gm.

Car bought from the dealership as used with 28k miles in nov 2014. in march 2015, the steering wheel started to lock while turning. meanwhile, the screen and the radio restarts. the locking of the steering wheel happens under different circumstances, including but not limit to when parking, cruising on the neighbourhood (speed below 30 mph), change lanes in highways (speed around 50 mph), and several times while the car was actually parked without motion. the car was brought to the dealership in april 2015 for the first time. in the following two years until last week (march 2017), the dealership replied "could not duplicate the issue" every single time. in the recent several times of me visiting the dealership about the same issue, they replaced the battery cables (with a charge for $750), and the fuse box (with a charge of $108), but still, the problem exists. the last visit to the dealer ends up with the routine reply of "can not duplicate" but they did admit that there is indeed an issue since i showed them a video i recorded when the issue happens. the locking of the steering wheel happens every single time when i tried to rotate the steering wheel (to make turning while driving or parking of course), but the issue is that it does not always happen. it only happens every now and then. that is why i am still driving it after two years since unfortunately, that is my only car. this is extremely dangerous since the locking of the steering wheel only locks while turning. it can cause accidents in the neighbourhood and a lethal accident on the highways. the gm offered me a coupon for some credit to be applied to my next purchase of a new gm car but i don't think that is a solution i can accept. i am attaching some of the service histories to support my statement. there are more but i can only upload 5.
