Headlights won't work brand new lightbulbs dashboard lights dim is outcontrol transaction turns on brake light turns on without touching the brakes they basically stay on and more
Front passenger headlight has gone out again. this bulb has been replaced numerous times. in reviewing several different websites, this problem is reported repeatedly, even with comments of gm mechanic stating there is an issue with the harness but gm is not recalling it. i pray that a child never runs out into the street and gets hit by a car as a result of the driver not being able to see on the right hand side of their car because gm does not want to pay to fix this known issue with the harness and the constant complaints they are aware. .
Complete loss of power steering , while drivng , steering wheel constantly shaking by itself. also replacing headlights an brake lights every couple months.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. while driving, the front passenger side head lamp failed to illuminate. in addition, the electronic stability control warning indicator illuminated intermittently. the vehicle was taken to flag chevrolet (1000 e belvidere rd, grayslake, il 60030). the contact was unaware of the dealer's diagnosis; however, the head lamp was replaced. the contact mentioned that the head lamp failure recurred. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 99,000.
Passenger side low beam headlight keeps going out. replaced bulb multiple times, 100/hr shop labor just to take off bumper to get to bulb. at this point a ticket would have been cheaper.
I've had electrical problems with my car since i bought it. the dealer has never been able to fix it because my car never showed any "codes". my car has acceleration problems, the right head light socket harness keeps burning out and i'm also starting to have problems with my brake lights. my brake lights don't go on when i press on my brake and when i do they sometimes stay on after i take my foot off the brake. the acceleration problem happens on a full stop and on the highway. i usually give my self extra space to accelerate because my car fails at times. in the highway my car sometimes struggles to catch up to speed with the other cars. this problem has almost cause and accident several times.
Driver tail light goes in and out when it feels like it, and my seat belt lght comes on and dings even though i have my seat belt on. also my traction control light comes on as well even though the roads are dry
Brake lights stay all the time. service traction light on. service cvs light on.
My car brakes lights keep going off and my chevrolet malibu 2010 car hesitates when driving .
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. while driving 35 mph, both of the low beam headlights shut off. the contact stated that the failure was intermittent over a period of time. the first time the failure occurred, the low beam headlights were replaced individually by an independent mechanic. when the low beam headlights shut off at once, the contact took the vehicle to jim browne chevrolet of tampa, florida where it was diagnosed that the circuits in both of the low beam headlights were faulty. in addition, the dealer stated that there was a recall; however, the year and model of the vehicle was not included. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 131,000.
Was recently made aware (numerous times in the last few weeks) that when driving down the road my brake lights are not working properly. at times when not applying the brakes the brake lights are on acting as if i was breaking and when i brake the brake lights turn off (so in other words it is reversed). around the same time that this began to have likely started occurring the following warning lights began to appear; "esc" and service traction" (i do not know if there is any relation between the brake lights and noted warning lights). i do not feel safe driving the vehicle especially with my family in it as the brake lights are not giving other drivers around me the appropriate indication of what my vehicles intentions are. the brake light problem has been occurring, when in motion, stationary, highway and city street. potentially parts that may require replacement or repair; body control module (bcm), bas, and harness connector.
My 2010 malibu headlights were replaced five times in a year. i paid over 1000.00 just to have a 15.00 light bulb replaced. something is happening because it occurs only on the passenger side only. there should be some type of recall or reimbursement. as of today. i can not afford to spend 200.00 just to go out again in a week. i am driving with one light because i refuse to fix it until gm do something about this problem. this is insane and something needs to get done immediately.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. while operating the vehicle, the esc and traction control sensors illuminated and the cruise control failed to operate. in addition, the rear brake lights illuminated while driving and turned off when depressing the brake pedal. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that an electrical connector was faulty. the connector was replaced and the failure was remedied. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the contact was informed that the faulty connector was a different connector associated with nhtsa campaign number: 14v252000 (service brakes, electrical system, exterior lighting). the failure mileage was 84,325.

Car was serviced for a 2014 recall because of the brake lights operating in reverse (on when foot is off the brake and off when brake is pressed), problem has returned and i was told that the "fix" that was applied during the recall was just a "band-aid" and that the bcm would have to be replaced. very unsafe car to drive since the brake lights are telling the drivers behind you that you are not stopping when, in fact, you are stopping. with more and more distracted drivers on the road, who rely on seeing brake lights in their peripheral vision in order to avoid a collision, the danger is increased exponentially. i have contacted gm and was asked "what do you want us to do?", which basically told me that they were unwilling to help me. this needs to fixed before someone is killed or gravely injured.
Headlight continues to go out, replace with new one only lasts a few days. also if you shut off car to go gas car doesnt restart. this happens every time get gas.
2010 malibu with 108,xxx miles, headlights go out at various times, bulbs have been replaced and the issue continues. no help from dealer except offer to replace headlights again.

The headlights keep going out. bulbs have been changed repeatedly, pigtail was changed in the wiring, fuse was changed and lights keep going out
I get the service esc alert and when i brake, my brake lights don't light up but when i'm not braking, they do not light up. this has been happening for at least two years off and on
Issue started 08/27/16 while 19 year old was driving at night. as the brake pedal is compressed the brake lights go off. while driving they are on. service traction and esc warnings come on intermittently. i have contacted chevrolet and have been advised there is not an open recall for this vehicle. a case has been opened with the manufacturer. i have been driving the vehicle several times and have almost been rear ended several times due to this issue. the vehicle is scheduled for inspection and maintenance 09/01/16 at miller and sons chevrolet. they have been advised of the issue. i have a suspicion this is a recurring issue on a previous recall (14v252000) after seeing some recent complaints from those whom have had the issue fixed the first time. this is the 5 time in 2 months i have had to have this vehicle in the shop. once for intake and exhaust solenoid replacement. "tapping noises" these ultimately led to a timing chain replacement of which gm covered 800.00. i had to pay 600.00. in all i have spent over 900.00 on this vehicle for repairs which i feel should have been covered under other vehicle recalls. either fix the existing problems or take the vehicle off the market and buy back.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. while driving approximately 55 mph, the brake light illuminated intermittently without the brake pedal being depressed. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the vehicle was serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 14v250000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system, exterior lighting), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage and vin were not available.
Nhtsa campaign number: 14v252000 impacted this vehicle and the vehicle was serviced in accordance with the recall at a chevrolet dealership. 14v252000 states: "in the affected vehicles, increased resistance in the body control module (bcm) connection may result in voltage fluctuations in the brake apply sensor (bas) circuit. these fluctuations can cause one or more of these conditions: the brake lights to illuminate without the brake pedal being pushed; the brake lights to not illuminate when the pedal is pushed; ..." when driving behind the vehicle while my wife was driving it i noticed the brake lights were on when my wife was driving and seemed to go off when she would have pressed on the brakes. when a chevrolet dealer was contacted and i explained the condition was consistent with the recall symptoms, i was told it was already fixed and any further work would cost money. after researching the "fix" in the recall i checked the electrical connection at the bcm. it did have dielectric gel applied to the bdm where the cable connected so repair was done. after removing and inserting the cable several times to remove any corrosion at the electrical connection as described in the recall, and putting it back together myself, the problem hasn't returned yet. however, the condition of having brake lights reversed is extremely dangerous and there was no indication of the problem, initially. before i re-applied the fix i did discover that the cruise control wouldn't engage when the condition was present (it was a frequent condition but wasn't always there). there were no other indications the brake lights were reversed other than looking at the lights from outside the vehicle. my concern is that gm's fix might be flawed as the recall condition recurred on my vehicle after the designated fix was performed at the gm dealership, causing risk to us and other vehicle owners.
Bcm issue resulting in brake lights not working properly. brakes lights are on when brake is not applied, and go off when brake is applied. brake light goes on after car reaches a speed of 15 mph. recall prior replaced the harness in 2014, but now chevy dealer is saying this is not related, yet it is the same symptoms of original recall back in 2014. the recall repair in 2014 seems to have been a band-aid on what could lead to a serious accident and loss of a life if not repaired correctly. customers should not be responsible for repair of a known issue that gm only put a temporary fix on but never solved the entire problem.
Dashboard cluster is out and goes in and out as well as the digital gear change. it started giving me transmition issues and now anything digital is completely out.
I am constantly having to replace the ac delco headlight connector part number: 17833-05421850 brand: ac delco notes: professional -- new; low beam; black and blue; 2 terminal. female about 4 times a year. it's not an easy job to get to the lights in the first place so i am forced to drive in the dark with one headlight. i work on the outskirts of town and drive through fields. it is very dangerous to drive with one headlight. i see so many malibu's with one headlight once i get into the city so i know it's not just my car. i also see many people complaining in online car forums. what can be done? i just replaced this part on july 6th, 2018, and by july, 24th, 2018 the part has burned out again and i'm left with one headlight. please help, i feel so taken advantage of. this has been happening for the past 2 years.

Service air bag soon alert intermittently comes on and goes off sometimes when restarting, other times after driving 15 - 20 minutes. had stayed on for 1 1/2 hour drive but when restarting was off. driving has been highway miles. can come on upon starting and while driving. dash board lighting goes off while driving, highway miles. sometimes does not turn on until 15 minutes of highway driving then go off again later. dial is setat brightezt point but not bright.
Right now i have the service esc and service traction light on again for the 3rd time. i took each time to chevy classic in grapevine tx and they told me no codes the 1st time, took it to clay cooley in irving--light came on then no codes they showed. today 4-15=16 light came on again and i took it to classic chevy and they found 3 codes this time. they say i will have to pay for this! i should not since there was an open recall on 5/14/2014 for 2010 malibu's. my car is doing this now !@!!@ it needs to be fixed at no charge to me!! i feel like this is the most dangerous car on the road for me and my daughter. i don't want to be a statistic if we have a car crash and it was all because chevy kept making excuses to not fix my crap car for me. the other recall was the brake system not illuminating i got that letter a little too late . someone rear ended me in oct 2012 while i was stopped at a red light. maybe those stupid back brake lights were not working then!!!!!! someone at classic or clay cooolye chevy needs to fix this esc light on my car and fix all the recalls for free. i also have an eps recall letter that was sent to me but someone at chevy told me the light has to come on for them to fix it. this is ridiculous. my car needs to be fixed for all these problems it has no matter if the light is on or not. but the light is on for service esc and traction right now!@ gm or chevy needs to pay for it and fix this car. the consumer stated the dealer did not completely fix the problem. they only lubricated and she continued to experience problems with the brakes, service light and esc light. also, the front axle was leaking.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that the traction control light kept illuminating and the brake lights remained illuminated when the brakes had not been applied. the vehicle was not inspected nor diagnosed, but the dealer was notified. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000. updated 09/27/16*lj *tr

Trafficator continues to malfunction, ocassional brake failures and other digital lights malfunctioned and stopped to function any completely. i was almost in a deadly crash again. sterring wheel. not once these incidence happened all happened on motion.
2010 chevrolet malibu. consumer writes in regards to esc light continuously illuminating and trac control switch issues. *smd the consumer stated after the part was replaced, the esc light illuminated again. the consumer continued to report the trac service light was still displayed. the dealer stated it was a possible bcm internal failure. the consumer received a recall notice shortly thereafter regarding an issue with the bcm connection system which could result i a malfunction. one of the symptoms of the problem, as stated in the notice was traction control, electronic stability control, and panic braking assist features, if equipped may be disabled. the vehicle was repaired at no cost to the consumer *jb

12/4/15 night, dry conditions, expressway: in motion: chime sounded and 2 warnings flash - service esc & service traction. 15 minutes later, - city streets, dry, same issue with esc and traction warning lights going on, plus almost rear ended. irate driver behind me said my brake lights were out, but they were astonished when the break lights came on while i was outside the car. they asked me to press the pedal - no lights. 20 secs after lifting off the pedal, brake lights on. major safety issue. upon driving found brake lights always go off when brake pedal depressed, go on at other times randomly while driving and go off again when brake pedal depressed.
Safety recall 13036b brake lamp malfunction third brake light stays on all the time. will go off when i press on the brake pedal. will only engage when pedal is pushed all the way to floor. also effects traction control, cruise control and shifting in/out of park. dealer said it was already fixed, i have no record of it. they, dealer snd gm will not take care of their issue. very big safety issue, i do not feel safe in my vehicle.
I have only been driving this car for 5 months. purchased used at dealership. i do not drive far. all of a sudden esc and "service traction" shows up on my dash. my rear break light turns on and i'm not touching the break. the "service traction esc" shows up more and more frequently. to me, this is a big safety issue and i see that my car is doing the same as others but gm told me via phone call, "only certain vin numbers are recalled". somethings wrong here. is it going to take someone to be severely injured or worse for this to get handled? i believe in american made cars, but why aren't the rest of us with this make and model and year also in this recall? we are having the same problems! all i was doing while driving was driving 45 mph on a straight flat road, where speed limit was 50mph!
I have filed one complaint about this issue, now after having the brake light switch replaced, i am back again. my 2010 chevy malibu,[xxx], the brake lights illuminate when the brake peddle is not engaged. by pressing hard enough on the brakes (which cannot be done when slowing down, or a simple brake), the brake lights do come on. i have had the recall notice on this issue addressed and now have had the brake light switch replaced, this problem is still there. the brake lights do not operate properly and are on when they should be off and vice versa. i have contacted chevy (gm) by chat, email, and phone and still cannot get help on getting this fixed appropriately. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

We got up this morning, went to get into our car and as i tried to unlock it i noticed my keyless entry would not unlock the door. i asked my boyfriend if his was working, and his wouldn't open the car either. so i unlocked the door manually and no alarm sounded. the dash didn't light up as it usually does either. i tried starting my car, the idiot lights came on as did my stereo, but the car never tried to turn over. we had no interior lights, no headlights, and not even hazards!! i thought hazards we're supposed to work in emergencies but apparently i was mistaken. thank god we weren't broke down in the middle of a road or freeway. i've noticed other years of this particular car have a recall for an ignition switch, why not this one? because their stories sound just like mine. this car is being towed to the shop tomorrow morning. if it is the ignition switch, chevy will be hearing from me.

While i was driving to work i noticed that the brake light in the rear window was only working on an intermitent basis. i had recall work done on my car in october of 2014 under recall 14v252000 or chevy recall 13036 then in mid july of this year my car started doing what they said that it might do in the recall letter. on august 3 i took my car to cargill chevrolet in putnam, ct. to see why it was doing this i thought that it should be covered under the recall. they then replaced a switch on the brake pedal at a cost of $272.03 that they said would fix the problem. the next day it was doing the same thing so i took it back and they said that the whole bracket in the rear window needed to be replaced at a cost of $402.40. this seems to fix the problem. they said neither repair was covered under the recall. i was wondering what your opinion was and if you had any other reports of defective recall work on this recall. thank you
I have had the recall notice (report receipt date: may 14, 2014 nhtsa campaign number: 14v252000 component(s): electrical system , electronic stability control , exterior lighting , service brakes, hydraulic , vehicle speed control ) previously taken care of by oakley chevrolet buick repair shop about a year ago. the problem has returned , the brake lights do not operate properly (they are on when the brake is not applied & when you apply the brake they go off). i returned the car to the shop and they stated that they could not duplicate that problem, but that it may be the brake apply sensor. they had my car all day, and could not tell me what the problem is.....i picked up my car and now i am trying through gm to get the matter addressed. i have been informed to get a second opinion. which i will do and i will be in touch. in addition to that issue, now the drivers seat belt chimes that the belt is not in use when it is and the car is driving. another safety issue.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 mph, the rear brake lights were illuminating constantly. the failure occurred intermittently and sometimes the brake lights failed to illuminate at all. the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed and repaired. the technician reset the computer but the remedy did not resolve the issue. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 58,000.
Yesterday i sent an e-mail about the turn signal indicator arm malfunctioning for the right turn signal on my 2010 chevy malibu. it got to the point yesterday that if i wanted to indicate a right turn i had to constantly hold up the arm to get it to signal. today i took it in to be repaired and it cost me $218.00. the mechanic told me that he has replaced close to a hundred of these in the last few years and that it seems to be a common problem with gm products. this is definitely a safety issue and it could have gotten me pulled over by a policeman for not signaling. all the other cars that i've owned have never had this problem. this is why we won't be buying any other gm products. we've had to take the malibu in for a total of 5 recalls so far. come on now -- don't you think this is a bit excessive?? *tr
The headlight of the car keep burning off, i have changed the bulb 5 or 6 times in each side, snd we change the connectors one time. so annoying. it is very hatd to replace tem and labor is so expensive. i have a power steering, electronic stability control (esc) issue with the same car. very scary. the steering wheel locks and you can not steer. thankfully there were no cars and nothing major happened. we got so scared. it has happen to times while driving it.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet malibu. while driving approximately 25 mph, the headlights were activated, but failed to illuminate. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic four times and the bulb was replaced each time. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unavailable.
