The "service airbag system" light came on and i was told that this is a dealership only problem and the dealership wants $130.00 just to check it out. being a safety issue and a dealership fix only problem i feel like i should not have to pay for attention to this matter.

For some reason throughout the last year my air bag light will stay on for quite awhile then go off and come back on at another time! i noticed there was a recall on air bags and even though it doesn't show a recall for my car i feel there is an issue with my air bags!

Passenger airbag turns on with no passenger in seat. seatbelt chime goes off while driving because of it.

Service air bag on dash came on today after a basic oil change @ a dealership

My service airbag sensor light had been on since i purchased my car a year ago, i am going to sell it but i didn't want to sell it with something that has to do with safety being questionable. i drove it to auto nation yesterday june 11th to see if it was a recall. they said there hasn't been one. i drove it home and started searching online for possible problems with it and there were so many posts about this issue. i searched under the passenger seat because that's what i read to do and low and behold all types of wires under it are completely severed and torn up. i was going to fix this myself but i really don't want to be held liable in case of accident or injury. this must be fixed and it's my belief that it's caused by the vehicle design. please hold chevrolet responsible for this repair as it is very dangerous for both the passenger and possibly everyone else in the vehicle. thank you very much for looking into this. i also believe that when a person calls a dealer telling then exactly what they found d (i called lenlyle on colfax and sable in aurora, co. and explained to then my findings and they told me that i would have to pay for this repair. they should direct a person to you guys when something that has to do with safety is found to be defective. this should be a requirement that they contact you dot as well as offer a repair imediately and consider themselves lucky that someone wasn't killed because a person came to them with the problem instead of trying to do the repair themselves.

I was driving home from work and i was doing 55 mph,and the car started to hesitate, and the dashboard info read stabilitrac, engine safty mod, and reduced power. then the car started to slow down, and when i tried to give it some gas the engine started to knock, and the temperature gauge went all the way up to the top. i pulled over and shut the car off,and opened the hood, and it wasn't even over heating. after letting it sit for a few minutes i started it up and went about five hundred feet and it did it again.

I was sitting in the parking lot with my engine running for about 10 mind. all a sudden 'reduced engine power' came across my dash and my service engine light came on. i turned my car off. about an hour later i turned it back on and the message was gone. then as i was driving down the road my service air bag light came on. it only comes on when the passenger seat beat is clicked on. and my driver side back door auto lock stopped working.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet impala. while driving unknown speeds, the service air bag indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the local dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was made not made aware of the failure. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 124,250.

Tl* the contact owned a 2010 chevrolet impala. while driving 68 mph, the contact's vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. the contact's vehicle was in the right lane and was pushed into the left lane by the impact. the contact was able to gain control of the vehicle and pulled over to the right side of the highway off the road. the air bags failed to deploy. the ambulance was not called. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed and deemed destroyed. it was unknown if the dealer or the manufacturer were contacted. the failure mileage was 188,000.

The service airbag light came on but you claim my vin number is not under recall! this should be looked into! it came on when i started it and stayed on until i was on my way home from work then it disappeared. i also have a break that is grinding even after it has had new rotors, brake pads and the caliper changed. it grinds continuously. i am not happy at all! please check into these matters! i believe my car should be on your recall list for these issues!

I have already complained about the service air bag light coming on, my complaint number is 11023868. you have not contacted me about this, i feel like you just put it on the back burner! i am not happy about this! i was finally able to get a picture of it, please fix this! this picture was taken this morning on 10/01/2017, my car should be on your recall list!!!!! instead of ignoring me this time please contact me, i am feeling very frustrated!

I have a 2010 chevy impala and it has the airbag issue which it has a recall but when i call chevy they say michael vehicles not affected even though it's has the same exact is shoes with the passenger seat in the wires as the recall. when i call chevy it only shows one recall for the ignition switch and they want to charge me to fix the airbag issue but there's a recall for servings 2009 and 2010 chevy impala

My service bag light is on again, less than one year before, have not made a dealer appointment yet, hoping this is not costly

Light. for service airbag on and upon srarting vehicle and periodically while driving a message also appears on dash information area stating service airbag. concerned if it's safe but dealer said no recall at this time and it "happens". still occurring.

Service airbag light comes on without pushing a code for error.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that while driving over 30 mph, the service air bag warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where a diagnostic testing was performed and an air bag code was displayed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

The service airbag soon light is on and the passenger side airbag is not sensing that a person is in the passenger seat. the first time the light came on was sitting in my garage. this is a major safety issue that needs to be addressed.

Air bag sensor has been tripped for the past 7 months, i have researched this recall, and it looks like the wiring harness might be the only thing that needs to be replaced. however, whenever, i put in my vin number, there aren't any recalls for this. also, i have received a letter about the gas sensor possibly being bad, however, when i took it into a chevy dealer to have it fixed, they refused to. they told me that the check engine light wasn't on, and that i had to wait until it failed before they would fix it! failure of this sensor means, it could fail in an intersection, or while i am passing someone, or whatever, this is a safety concern!!! i am very unhappy that they wouldn't fix it. now, my check engine light is on, however, it is because another sensor is bad! the evc sensor now has to be fixed. the airbag sensor was tripped while i was driving on the hwy at 70 mph on a warm day of 80 f or so. the evc sensor tripped overnight when i started the car in the morning. the gas pedal sensor has been a problem for 3 years because chevy dealers refuse to fix it. these concerns are in addition to the other mechanical fixes that i have had to do on a car that has less than 87,000 miles on it! i am feeling like i have a lemon of a car and that this impala is the worst car on the market. i have had several chevy products, and have never experienced problems like this. what happened to the great products that chevy once produced???

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet impala. while stationary, the air bag indicator illuminated. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 66,830. the vin was unavailable.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated whenever the driver seat was moved further back. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact the vehicle was not included in a recall. the approximate failure mileage was 109,000.

Airbag light goes on and off while driving. took to dealer said it is a $700 repair for the "seat belt tensioner". transmission exploded at 30,000 miles. at 60,000 mile had to replace transmission again. now at 108,000 miles transmission is now slipping and not accelerating properly from a stop.

#1 every time i move the drivers seat my airbag light comes on saying that the airbag is disabled. #2 the car's traction will act like i'm on ice (even on a hot 90 degree july day). the traction light comes on and the engine will gear down, to the degree of loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking. this has happened several times while driving long distances on the highways i found recalls pending for these problems and my vin # is not on the list. well i'm telling you now this is very dangerous and very scary. someone is going to get injured or killed!! official nhtsa page concerning recall #16v507000 official nhtsa page concerning recall #14v355000

Haven't been in an accident and yet the service airbag light has come on in the car. it's ridiculous how many issues the impala has and yet there are no recalls.

I was going home from work in the middle of 4-lane rush hour traffic going across an intersection. with no warning, no lights coming on or anything my car began to lose acceleration and stopped then it just would not move at all! the tow truck had a hard time getting the car onto his truck as the wheels locked up..............no warning lights, never slipped never had any transmission issues.

My air bags keep making a loud noise every few minutes.

Air bag check light goes off and on. while driving on local or highway roads the lights will flash and the check air bag light will be displayed or if already displayed will turn off. this has been happening for over a month now!

I heard a very loud clicking sound from my parked vehicle. upon entering, i noticed that the passenger air bag on indicator light was lit. i pressed it in with my finger and the light went from on to off. i drove for a few minutes, then stopped the vehicle and restarted. the passenger air bag light stayed on.

When you move the passenger seat backwards ir forward the service air bag light comes. this happens at any time . since it is not a power seat it just so happpens when moving it manually

I just bought a used 2010 impala with approximately 210000 miles. when i turn on the vehicle, the airbag light is constantly on and the driver's information system indicates that the airbags need to be serviced. i have contacted the dealer and they have not yet been able to resolve the issue. if there are any changes, i will report them. i am very concerned for the safety of myself or my passengers with this issue.

While driving on the interstate going about 70mph the check engine light flashes on goes off then pops back on. message comes on saying reducing engine power then traction control service lights comes on and stays on all while i'm losing power trying to get over to safety i have my foot on the gas pedal but no power at all put my flashers on lucky chp seen me and helped me to the shoulder.call aaa while waiting i start the car up press on the pedal i have power.

After purchasing this vehicle within 30 days the air bag system light came on i took the vehicle back to future nissan of folsom and they stated that i would have to call the warranty people there was nothing they could do about it. a week later i noticed when i slow down using the breaks it makes a shaking sound, making the whole car shake. this vehicle also has no coverage when pumping gas i noticed the silver cap inside that's suppose to remain closed until you put the gas pump in there in always open, which allows air to get inside. my powertrain is not accelerations properly, it takes about a minute for it to catch its gear. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet impala. the contact stated that the service air bag warning indicator was illuminated. the problem occurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to dealer. the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was unknown. updated 12/17/14*lj

While driving with a passenger in the front seat, the passenger airbag would switch off for no reason without the passenger moving. this happened a number of times over about a week. then on friday october 3rd, 2014 it happened again and this time right after it happened all the gauges dropped including fuel, mph, rpm, etc... so i pulled into a parking lot and before i was able to stop, the computer module in the car died as well as the engine. i ended up hitting a light post in the parking lot while avoiding a pedestrian. the car has since ceased to start at all. luckily no one was hurt but this car was clearly not safe. i consider myself very lucky. *tr
