Recently reported ELECTRICAL SYSTEM problems on 2009 Chevrolet Impala

I placed the car in park on the street in my community, and left it running while dropping something in a mailbox. tried to shift into drive to leave, and it would not shift. my foot was firmly on the brake but the console shifter would not budge. i was forced to leave my car just a few doors away from home until the next day when my son came and showed me how to remove the console cover to press the silver button and release the shift. i have seen many complaints about a btsi (?) solenoid or loose wires. why is there no recall? being stuck could be very hazardous to safety.

2009 chevy impala tps sensor keeps appearing but tire dealer couldn't dx problem pass side right front. today air bag p/s side air bag warning light came on. dealer sold as is. think none of this should have never gone thru md state inspection. please help

While driving on a street, the airbag service light illuminated and warning indicator for the red airbag sign displayed. checked all connections and drove it to the dealership. they said they fixed the problem but they did not.

Airbag light stays on and it has a airbag message on the dash the ignition switch doesn't work the car won't turn over

Speedometer caught on fire and burnt out the electrical wires

Started with the autolock doors fail sometimes, then the car started shutting off and not starting i've had it in the garage twice,to no avail it ended up being towed back to my residence two days after repair. replaced the battery, the battery cable and a relay

Abs and traction control lights intermittently come on causing car to jerk with acceleration, or occasionally, to slip during braking. wheel hub assemblies have been replaced multiple times and the same faulty issue keeps reoccurring. low quality wiring and position and tautness going into the harness are a recipe for disaster. sensors can be set off with as little effort as gently rocking the car, definitely going off if there are any bumps or potholes in the road. also had other annoying although less dangerous issues: door lock actuators and heating/ac actuator, causing door locks to not respond and causing a horrible clicking noise in the car, respectively. i have walked away from the car thinking i had locked it only to find one or more of the doors did not lock. actually had items taken from the car. the clicking noise from under the dash was sporadic, usually upon starting the car, but occasionally while driving with no notice. this ear splitting, headache inducing noise would for the most part stop after several minutes of driving, but would sometimes continue after the car was shut off and would drain the battery. the electrical system throughout the car is horrible.

The vehicle shut down and i cannot start it because of the ignition switch causing the entire vehicle to become inoperable. i was pulling up in my drivewaywhen the vehicle shut down.

Door locks work intermittently with remote, especially over 75 degrees. usually driver door lock but can be any. all still work manually. this can be very dangerous because handicapped people are often in this vehicle and can't get out on their own. also intermittently dependent on how hot it is the service passenger airbag light comes on but often disappears. this started soon after the so called airbag recall was done.

The impala displays service traction control followed by engine power reduced. throws a code for throttle body sensor, but that does not fix the issue. accelerator pedal position sensor is another reason they say, which also does not fix the issue. my car has shut off on me going down the interstate, on a highway, and and over a hill. it shuts down and says 'starting disabled, service throttle' with no warning at all. several people have had the same exact problem and no one seems to know how to fix it. they say wiring but it never fixed anything.

Lately, i have been having issues with the acceleration of my vehicle. every so often, my engine light comes on and i get a "engine reduced" notification, and my vehicle slows down. whenever i reach 40mph, my hp meter drops and my car starts shaking. there has even been a time when my car would completely shut off and display "ignition disabled". each time this has happened, the vehicle was moving on a highway. i went to a shop to get the error codes and i will upload them.

The radiator fan stop working do to electrical problem i change sensors and relays n still won't work i had auto shop test the fan and the fans works. it stop working on its on

My car occasionally makes a ticking noise from the dash. this comes and goes periodically. it starts when i open the door (any door) and continues for about a minute. in the period when this noise comes and goes the doors will automatically lock, i.e. if i step out of the car (running or not) and shut the door it will automatically lock even if i did not hit the lock button and even if i do hit the unlock button. twice this has occurred when the car was running and my dog was in the vehicle (along with my purse and keys) causing me must distress. i believe this is something faulty in the make of the car. by the time i get to a dealership to have it checked out the clicking has stopped or it is not locking automatically. the dealer says it has to be happening while the noise is ongoing. there are no lights on the dash to indicate a problem. this first started about a year ago and the most recent incident was today (the date listed below). thank you for your time.

Service airbag light comes on intermittently and then goes off. i took it took the dealership and they couldn't replicate it. this has has more than one time. i'm concerned that this can cause an issue during a front end collision. multiple chevrolet impala owners have the same issue and gm won't stand behind this. same for the power door locks, driver door doesn't always open. same issue and since they can't replicate it, they say keep an eye on it. concerned if the door won't unlock sometimes. air pressure monitoring system & stability trak monitors also seem to have issues. the sensors on the car constantly go off and my vehicle has less than 65,000 miles on a 9 year old car. concerned when driving it if it's just a sensor issue or a real problem that can cause a safety concerned when driving and chevrolet doesn't want to do anything concerning the issue. i've already paid 645.00 for the actuator, 345.00 for the tire monitoring system and i keep getting told keep an eye on the service airbag issue cause they can't replicate it.

For over a year now, an airbag red light comes on sporadically along with a beeping noise. i can't afford the hundreds of dollars the local dealership requires to check it out to see if it is the drivers side or passenger air bag. i just want to know if it imposes any danger. they say it may me just a faulty system and that it doesn't necessarily mean that the airbag wouldn't deploy in an emergency. but they have to take the whole front side out to check. the labor time is quite price. also, when using my remote, the door locks stay locked off and on. no rhyme of reason. it has been going on for over a year; but your form here makes me put just one date down in order to proceed.

What has to happen before something is done about this problem ? traction control light and reduce engine power light comes on going down the interstate and the car shuts down and you have to try and get car pulled over to the side of the road without hitting someone or getting hit . this is a very common problem with this vehicle and nothing is being done about it . i would really like a response on this problem . this happens a lot so your date you want incident happening is really not right .

While the vehicle was in motion on dry pavement, the traction control light came on, followed by the check engine light then the car stalled and had to be be eased off the highway. tried to restart the vehicle several times. after it sat for a couple of minutes tried one more time and the car restarted and drove home perfectly. researched the issue online, and there are entire forums in edmunds dedicated to this very problem. definitely a safety issue with this vehicle.

Low beam headlights quit working driving in the city , traction control and engine loss of power lights came on and car shut down while driving down the interstate doing 70 mph . door locks malfunction and quit working . this has happened to many times . affraid to let the wife drive it to work because it has shut down quite a few times .

Airbag light is on paid to get it fixed and it's still on afraid to drive it if i get into an accident it will probably not deploy the electrical system doesn't work my brake lights don't work to fix them and get new balls it's all electrical i seen there's a recall but i bought the car after the recall so i had no idea there was a recall for the electrical system wiring and the electrical system ignition my key gets stuck in the ignition and i have to push a button in the back in order for it to release

I called my local chevy automobile place and they can not find the recall on 36110 passenger presence sensor and instrument cluster malfunction i need this fixed because i can tell how fast i'm going not see how much gas i got in my tank none of the instruments in the dashboard work i'm always running out of gas and i can't tell if car is hot or cold car is in motion when all this occurs

Car running down road dash instruments go out, warning lights flicker off and on. all may come back on and then go out again, pulling passenger seat belt seems to affect this

Autonation along with gm communicated with my mechanic and myself and told me that my car repairs would be completed and paid for by gm as part of recall work and subsequent damage from the recall work not being performed before additional damage could occur. we were even told that our rental car would be paid for but once they towed the car from our mechanic to their shop, they told us that we would have to pay for that, although didn't communicate that to us until over a month had gone by. subsequently, autonation towed my car back to my mechanic but with even more damage than they themselves stated had been the situation with my car. their own mechanic stated both verbally and in writing (in the work order) that the recalled wires shorted causing the damage to my car. no one will tell us why that changed once our car was towed to them as we would never have towed it to them if that would have been the case. additionally, no one has told us why or who the someone is who disagreed with their own mechanic (and 3 additional mechanics subsequently) and made the determination that we would have to pay for the short and related damages. i do have the gm document safety recall report associated with this recall that outlines what happened to our call will happen to 1 percent of the cars manufactured during the timeframe my car was manufactured as well as the work order from autonation clearly stating a short caused damage to my vehicle

Key gets stuck in ignition, rap fuse blows, then when inserting new rap fuse (10 amp) it shorts before the fuse can be placed in the fuse box. this seems to be a common problem in many chevrolet vehicles. stationary when this happened (shifting into park), accessing electrical fuse box is a safety issue (appears to be something live that causes the new fuse to blow). safety due to inability to get key out and resultant dead battery, failure to start, etc. the shorting of the rap fuse and the resultant inability to remove the key could turn into a larger safety issue, gm should investigate and issue a tsb.

Issues with the airbag and light the blinkers shorted out, the car kept dying and the key got stuck in the ignition in a parking lot. the gear shifter was getting stuck in different gears been undrivable since the beginning of august 2018 didn't know about the recalls till august but the recalls are in 2016 and 2014

We brought vehicle in for recall for wiring harness repair back in august because airbag light was on. dealership wrapped the wires. 3 weeks later airbag light was on again. brought back to dealership and they told us wires were damaged and wiring connector need to be replaced which was not part of recall. paid $329. when i read recall online, it clearly states the wires should be inspected before applying the tape and if not wiring should be replaced for no charge. i filed complaint with gm and they contacted dealership who still says wires are not part of recall. advised word for word of recall and no have to go to dealership with paperwork. my child is driving this car and was told by the dealership this is not a safety issue and we could have left it as is. really?

I took my car to auto mall in brattleboro vt for the recall 36110 passenger seat occupant sensing. they had it all day said they fixed it but the airbag light is on and it still doesn't sense anyone in the passenger side seat. they also gave me a list of 9 codes that my car now has but didn't back in june 3 of which i know about tire and dead battery in my remote and my actuator door, the rest all have to do with electric issues. i think stemming from the original recall. i wouldn't pay 90.00 to have it coded again so i looked up the codes myself and they are all loop open circuit and one is second row seat belt pretensioner deployment control. seems to me that there is more than wrapping the wires is going to fix, i think it all has to do with the recall but they refuse to do anything. i don't even know what they did wrap or change the housing?? my codes are as follows b0223 b3060 b3031 b1325/3 b0074 c0755 boo1b/4 b0021/04. help please all i want iis to be able to get my car inspected. as i said i had no codes until this started when the same dealer changed my pps module back a few months ago which was a recall too. when my abs light came on and traction control and loss of power. after auto mall fixed that the airbag light came on. they had the nerve to ask if i had mice living in my car...
