We have classified the 21 complaints from 2001 Chevrolet Impala about EXTERIOR LIGHTING into the following categories.
On 9-14-04 and 9-21-05 we had to have our hazard flasher replaced twice as it no longer performed intended function. *nm
Exterior hazard warning light failed to illuminate intermittently. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. *ak
My turn signals do not run properly. they work and sometimes they don't. the hazards work then they don't'. at times when you move the turn signals back and forth or you turn the hazards on and off, it might make the turn signals work ok, i haven't had any turn signals that work correctly for the past two years. *jb

The turning signal and hazard flashing warning light failed intermittently. *ak
Intermittently while driving at night the headlights failed.this caused poor visibility to the driver. vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, but mechanic could not duplicate the problem at this time. *ak

At least once a week the turn signals fail to work (ussually during rush hour of course). i have reported this to the dealer 3 times and they have been unable to get it to repeat this failure; and, thus, say it is very difficult to fix the problem if they can't see it happen. last failure was 03/26/04. the car is still under warranty. *ak
The turn signals on my 2001 chevy impala have a tendency to stop working randomly. in traffic this is very dangerous. this has been checked out and no problem could be found because the turn signal was working at the time. *ak

Turn signal failed intermittently. *ak when the signal was engaged it did not work. the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer and the hazard switch was replaced. the consumer stated his vehicle experienced the same problem as the malibu which was recalled. *jb *nm
1. crank sensot failed and ran hazard lights on side of innerstate for 3 hours while gm roadside assistance sent tow service. 2. turn signals failed intermittently and operation of hazard switch would be restore them temporially. 3. replaced hazard signal switch and the old part is available. *tr
Blinkers and hazards would stop working at times.*ak
Blinker, hazards would not work after it rained. had to have the multi switched replaced. (gm #88964580). *ak
Turn signals work sometimes...sometimes not. you never know when they will or will not work. *nm
Turning signal failure. problem is fixed temporarly when i tap on the hazard warning switch. i called up manufacturer told me there was a problem with the hazard warning switch but, they won't fix the problem unless i pay for it. this problem has almost caused a traffic accident.
Intermittently, the turn signals failed to operate. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. the mechanic informed the consumer that the turn signal switch needed to be replaced. please provide further details. *jb
While driving the vehicle stalled while driving 70 mph, the passenger side headlamp blew, the roof molding was lifting on both sides, the drivers side window leaks air and the window hits hard in the top of the door jam, when going over bumps the vehicle shakes and there is a clunking noise under the vehicle, the dealer replaced the steering shaft and the tie rod ends yet the problem still exist. nlm
