Some time it feels as if you are riding on the rumble strips on shoulder of the road and some times it shifts pretty hard the rumble can happen at anytime
The truck's drivetrain/transmission constantly shakes, shutters while driving. it happens periodically throughout the rpm ranges.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 chevrolet colorado. while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle lost power, downshifted, decelerated to 20 mph, and the brake lights went out. the contact pulled into a ditch to avoid a semi truck behind his vehicle. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact called ressler motors at (866) 623-5535 (located at 8474 huffine ln, bozeman, mt 59718) and was informed to bring the vehicle to the shop. the contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and needed to be towed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 19,214.
When coming to stop from any speed the truck downshift hard that it feels like you've been hit from behind. also when using remote start and you put the key in the ignition and turn it on the transmission does a little jump like the truck is going into gear. we have taken it in for repairs 3 times and the last time we were told the issue could not be fix and that it was normal.
The transmission has a very hard down shift when coming to a stop. almost feels like you've been hit from behind. the faster you were going before stopping the harder it downshifts. when taking vehicle in we were told there is no fix for this. also when using remote start once you put the key in the transmission jumps. we were told not to bring the truck back for this issue.
2018 colorado develops a shutter when moving up an incline from speeds of 45 to 60 mph on highways. truck has 33,000 miles 10,000 miles i placed on the truck the remainder was while the truck was part of a fleet. just noticed this shutter at 32,000 miles. though it was tires , but turned out not to be the issue.
Truck shakes at speeds above 55 mph. at 65 mph my phone will fly off the magnet mount on the windshield; water and ice shake as if boiling at 70 mph and above. sometimes the vehicle feels like it is coming apart it shakes so hard. when the vehicle was two months old it stopped on a city street in arlington va and was undriveable. after a timeout period of 10-15 minutes it was driveable but at 10 mph it whined as if the transmission or engine was going to blow up. at 20-25 mph it was a screaming demon and had to be towed to the dealership (browns) who found no record in car computer system of fault. battery or electrical system was completely dead on 7 june 2019 with about 10,200 miles. dealership knew i had appointment and i asked for tow but they don't provide a tow from reed-lallier. onstar was of little help so i called my usaa insurance roadside assistance to get truck jump started; i missed appointment and they canceled appointment that morning which was to check for shaking and also 2nd oil change. gmcustomercare took my concerns and asked my resolution which was check battery for bad cell, be aware of first transmission problem in arlington va and the current problem of vehicle shaking. i am a retired paratrooper with verifiable severe nerve damage to my back and lower legs and this vehicle causes serious physical and neurological problems when driving highway speeds.
Chevrolet colorado shaking and shuttering violently while drving. extremely dangerous. chevrolet is not listening to all the complaints. are they waiting on a dangerous deadly accident before they acknowledge and recall the vehicle and repair this dangerous situation!
Hard shifting when you accelerate in the first two gear and hard downshifting when stopping.
Hard/rough shifting up in gears and same down shifting in gears. shaking/jerking/shuddering at speeds apx. 20-70 mph. transmission can down shift so hard, at times, it feels like someone hit your from behind. wants to stall/slip shifting up in gears. seems to have too much free play in driveline while sitting still shifting from drive to reverse. makes a clunk sound.
Shutters and shakes for long periods while driving. growls and makes a low rumbling while shaking the entire truck. during this vibration which happens all the time its hard to hear the person talking next to you or the radio if its on low. took to dealer and they said they all do that; it's common with these; nothing to do.
Noticed a "shuddering" in the transmission during light acceleration between 40-60mph around 1500rpm. whole truck vibrates like you are driving over rumble strips. only 4150 miles on the truck!
Purchased new chevy colorado 4x4 extended cab with 3.6-liter v6, transmission 8-speed model 8l45. transmission developed shudder during light throttle acceleration between 30 and 70 mph. shudder is cyclic lasting 4 - 12 seconds, reaccurring 45 - 90 seconds. shudder feels similiar to driving over mild rumble strips or rough pavement. first notice transmission problem around 1200 mile mark, total mileage on vehice as of april 11, 2019 is 2750 miles. more information can be found with ge service information (si) as a techinical service bulletin (tsb). refer to these gm tsb's 16-na-175, 18-na-177, and 18-na-355.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 chevrolet colorado. while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle vibrated without warning. the vehicle was taken to bell chevrolet inc (304-652-3541, located at 600 chelsea st, sistersville, wv 26175) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be flushed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 25,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2018 chevrolet colorado. while approaching a stop, the vehicle downshifted without warning. the failure occurred intermittently. bob hook chevrolet (4144 bardstown rd, louisville, ky 40218, (844) 212-4818) diagnosed and repaired the torque converter and changed the fluid, but the failure persisted. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 15,000.
I have a 2018 chevrolet colorado lt 4wd crew cab. multiple times on a cold start the engine is misfiring. the check engine like comes on, the vsa, and t/c lights all come on and a notification on the dash saying stabilitrak is disabled. the vehicle shakes terribly. the check engine light will flash and then go solid. i am an automotive technician. i know that a misfire should set a hard dtc. when the vehicle is turned off and started several hours later there is no check engine light or any other light on. the dealership in marysville, oh had my truck for 3 days and told me they cleaned a bunch of terminals at several connectors. whatever that is supposed to do. they said they started the vehicle several times after and everything was good. the next day after i picked the truck up, it did the same exact thing! extremely frustrating! i know a continuous misfire let's unburned fuel into the catalytic converter which leads to premature breakdown of the catalyst. so my question is what is being done about these issues? another issue is with the transmission. on a cold start there is a clunk noise. then when you are driving at cruising speed and you let off the throttle and depress throttle again there is a shudder. also, when you come to a complete stop the vehicle tries to jolt forward. this is extremely concerning especially on a vehicle with roughly 18,000 miles on it. this needs to be addressed promptly!!
When the truck is put in auto 4wd mode while parked, instead of the 4wd engaging as necessary, it engages immediately upon motion. this makes the auto 4wd option obsolete.this was first noticed when i used 4wd auto mode for the first time in october 2018. i've notified the dealer but they don't seem to think anything is wrong or not functioning properly.
My vehicle shakes and shutters when accelerating. i have brought it to chevrolet of wesley chapel fl 3 times for the same problem. the proceeded to do a "flush" and have replaced the torque converter.
Chevy colorado a bad vibration in drivetrain. took truck to dealer who said it was torque converter problem. it has been at dealer for 9 days because they are doing 9 vehicles a day for this problem. supposedly they are going to change torque convertor, others they just change the oil in torque convertor. this is done approxmately 9 times a week at this one dealer, ross downing in hammond, la. this is the 8sp trans. that is used in several gm rear drive cars and trucks. my truck only has 6300 miles on it. when trying to pass vehicles on interstate it vibrates so bad over 70 mph i am afraid to wreck. others i have talked to at dealership claim there vehicle vibrates at lower speeds, surges and making noise. this dealership doing 9 a week, that probably is several thousand a week statewide. this is a terrible problem that needs fixin. many thanks.
Upon accelerating the vehicle onto a 3 lane road, all warning lights came on in the vehicle. a warning message presented on the dashboard stating "engine power reduction" and then the vehicle shut down completely while moving. the engine shut off and the vehicle would not disengage from park. vehicle had to be towed from the location. at the dealership, the dealer informed me the engine throttle body and intake tube duct hose should be replaced. he also informed me gm is aware of this issue with the vehicle and has not developed a permanent fix for the issue.
Transmission has horrible shifting. hard shifting at low speeds and when decelerating (feels like i was rear ended). torque converter was replaced. from low speed, it doesn't downshift to accelerate unless the pedal is floored. also, there is hesitation/pedal lag from a standstill, which makes it unpredictable when trying to pull into traffic. that part is a real safety convern.
I had truck stationary parked on a slight incline on a dirt road for about 5 minutes when i heard a odd sound like "arrrrr clunk" and my car rolled down a hill. i had my car on park while on 4low with the engine off. i did not have my parking brake on though but the incline was so slight i feel i did not need it. my truck was not loaded with any extra weight or anything to cause it to roll down the hill. i truly believe i am not at fault for this happening it is a brand new car how could this happen? prior to this i was not doing anything extreme to damage my car in any way. something must have failed on my truck.
