We have classified the 3 complaints from 2005 Chevrolet Colorado about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
Own a 2005 chevrolet colorado and am having repeated events with the abs warning light. the light came on recently and then disappeared; followed by returning again yesterday along with brake light warning. this is a safety issue for anyone owning and driving one of these. after investigating other complaints with this issue it looks like gm needs to step up and do a recall. *tr
Abs fault reads on my dash in my 2005 chevy colorado. have had my truck in and out of the chevy dealership 5 times already. have had the wheel speed sensor replaced costing me a pretty penny of over 300 dollars and come to find out it was not the cause of the issue. has been checked over and over by the dealership computer reader and each time has come up with nothing causing the issue and has not been fixed. problem occurs everytime i drive the vehicle normally as soon as i turn the vehicle on and the causing the abs to run automatically on a dry surface making it very hard to stop when needing to. i am fed up with the problem and request it to be fixed. yet to be done! *tr
2005 chevy col 3lt. after3yrs and 2 months of having it i had the problem with the drivers side window and door lock not working. also fuel gauge would drop to empty. fuel float was sticking! now at 4 1/2 yrs the fuel pump has 'shorted out'. truck would not start. *tr
The blower module wire harness continually goes out. i have replaced it twice and the same thing happens. appears to me that there is some sort of short in the wiring. if you take off the bad harness and look down in the connectors one of them is always burnt up. i worry that it could cause a potential fire hazard. i know that i am not the only person that is happening to. i continually check internet blogs and it seems to happen more often than not. *tr
Noticed first the cruise control had stopped working, then was informed by a friend that i had no brake lights. while searching for replacement parts online, i noticed a recall notice for my vehicle from nhtsa(09v310000), but that parts will not be available until june 2010. i contacted chevrolet and was told that there are no open recall notices on my vehicle. at this time i have not replaced the defective part. *tr
Windshield wipers deosn't work i have had it in twice now to fix the reaccuring problem *cn
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet colorado. while driving approximately 20 mph on normal road conditions, the air conditioner system was activated; however, without warning it failed to operate normally. the driver observed underneath the front passenger dashboard that the air conditioner wiring melted. the vehicle has not been repaired. the contact is aware of the safety risk involved. the failure and current mileages were 48,000.
I have a 05 colorado. extended cab 4x4 w/ 14,200 miles. i am the original owner. more than once i have had trouble with the driver side window won't go down and the door locks do not work. this problem is very annoying, frustrating and time consuming. it is not an uncommon problem, check out the on line forms related to colorado's. my dealer checked for recalls and tsbs with out help. i am very disappointed in gm as they know this is an issue, but they don't want to or seem to have an answer. four years ago i had the option to by foreign but bought american instead. *tr
Cruise control on my 2005 chevy colorado stopped working, when researching the problem i found my brake lights were also not working, there is supposed to have been a recall about this, however my dealership - lithia chevrolet and george gee pontiac, both say thier part was already replaced on the vehicle and they refuse to fix it again, thus i am stuck without brake lights, obviously the replacement part doesn't fix the problem. *tr
Check engine service light repeatedly was occurring; it was fixed by replacing sensors. third time check engine service appears again this time the factory"heads" in the motor had to be replaced. it always seems to be some ongoing type of default or defect with this vehicle. *tr
Fan motor on climate control on an 05 chevrolet colorado. problem has occurred 2 times and general motors will not assist with the problem.
I have owned my 2005 chevrolet colorado 4 door 4x4 since nov. 2004 i have had tires that puckered, 3 radios installed, blower motor switch replaced 1 time and is now out again, a leak in the fire wall that has been in 2 times to be fixed and still leaks in hard rains, a defective brake light switch. and the worst gas mileage of any vehicle i have owned in the past 30 years. my 71 monte carlo with a 400 big block and 3:73 rear end gears got better gas mileage. chevrolet said to wait till it had about 10,000 miles well it has 52,000 and still can't get past 16.5 mpg. and only 11 if towing anything. the radio has been fixed and the brake switch replaced i still have leaking fire wall and very poor gas mileage. i drive a nice straight shot 71 miles one way with only 2 stop signs between start and finish of my drive each day for a total of 140 miles of pure open interstate driving in a rural area! shame on you chevrolet! *jb
Dt: the consumer stated the vehicle has push buttons to change to 4-wheel drive. without warning the vehicle changed from 2-wheel drive to 4-wheel drive without touching the controls. the dealer changed the computer and said they could not find the cause of the problem. caller said loaner vehicle did the same thing. manufacturer said they could not find the cause of the problem either. had vehicle 7 times at dealer for this problem.*ak the air condition was not cooling properly, therefore the dealer replaced the ac condenser. *jb
