Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet colorado. the contact noticed the air bag light illuminated on the instrument panel. whenever the front driver seat was occupied and the seat belt was not engaged, the fasten seat belt warning indicator failed to chime. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they informed the contact that the air bag and seat belt pre tensioner needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the problem. updated 06/26/12 *bf
Airbag failed to deploy and seatbelt restraint failed in head-on collision with telephone pole. data event recorder/airbag controller p/n 15106281, service #12249529, s/n as6281k150131nen was inspected and found to be non-functional by bill rehm traffic accident investigator. several attempts were made by mr. rehm and representatives of bosch, manufacturer of the data retrieval software and hardware. they were unable to get any output from the unit and determined that the unit was defective from the manufacturer deltron. Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet colorado. the contact was a passenger in the vehicle when the driver, who was traveling 65 mph, abruptly applied the brakes in an attempt to avoid striking a deer. the driver crashed into the deer and the air bags deployed, but the front passenger seat belt did not restrain the contact in the seat. the driver's side seat belt worked properly. the contact sustained shoulder and chest injuries from the crash. the vehicle was not inspected or repaired for the failure. the vin was not available. the vehicle was sold. the failure mileage was 87,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet colorado extreme ls. the contacts husband was driving when he hit a deer on the front passenger side. the seat belt harness came out of the floor causing the passenger to hit the dashboard. the vehicle was traveling 65 mph at the time of the collision. the passenger had several bulging disc in the neck and back along with injuries to her hip. the contact was still getting treatment for several injuries as a result of the failure. the fire and rescue team informed her that the seat belt harness detached during the crash. the vehicle was destroyed but had not been inspected. the failure and current mileages were 87000. updated 01/13/11*lj the consumer stated the shoulder harness ripped retractor out of the floor board. the seat belt retractor failed to secure her and as a result, she suffered severe injuries. updated 03/31/11

2005 chev colorado. truck 4x4 wet roads, came around curve 35 mph lost control front end went into hillside. air bag did not deploy! truck then rolled over smashing driver side door and roof. seat belt broke. roof caved in and bed. *nm
Dt: the contact stated the passenger and rear seat belts tighten as soon as they are put on. they are so tight that there is not enough room for the passenger to turn on the radio. the dealer, where she purchased the vehicle, states it was the way the vehicle was manufactured. another dealer told the contact it was made that way so that a child safety seat could be put in. she informed him there were airbags, and he then stated she could put a rear facing seat there. no repairs have been made to the vehicle. *ak
Dt*: the contact stated the passenger's side seat belt continuously retracts. the vehicle has been to the dealership, the seatbelt was replaced. this has not fixed the problem. the manufacturer has been alerted.
