I have had my car since 2004 and i loved it when i first drove it off the car lot. then i have had problem after problem! my gauges mess up all the time. i can get into my car and start it up and it will say i'm doing 70 mph and i'm not moving. i have had to replace my clutch twice in a year. it would be really nice if chevrolet would do a recall on the gauges with all of the problems that people are having!! *tr
The entire gauge cluster no longer works and the speedometer was the first item to start failing while the car was still under warranty. the mechanics at the location where i bought the vehicle claimed restarting the car multiple times would reset the needle back to where it belongs. this worked for a while, but i have since had to replace the item on my own for the same issue twice. *tr
About a week after buying the car, my break light comes on and my brakes started grinding and the car started to shake, i took the car in and had the brakes replaced and was also told i probably had an electrical problem but they couldn't find out from the diagnostics test. about two weeks later i had to go back with same problem. now, as in today, 6 months later, the same thing is going on. now i would like to have an explanation as to why i should be responsible for having to correct this problem again. *nm
I purchased a 2005 cavalier used with 19,000 miles one it. within a couple of months the speedometer, gas gauge, and the thermostat gauges all started to go crazy. i took the vehicle in for repair and was told it would cost about $300 to $500 to fix. i asked if there were any recalls on this defect and was told no. i can never tell how fast i am going, how much fuel i have, or the temperature of my engine. there should be a massive recall and the manufacturer should fix this free of charge. *tr
I want to know is there a recall on my gauges on my 05 cavalier because what happens if i run out of gas and i have a wreck because my gas gauge don't work and don't know how fast i am going or what the rpms of my engine or the temp of the engine. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet cavalier. the contact stated that the horn sounds intermittently while the vehicle is parked or while opening the trunk. the key must be placed in the ignition in order for the horn to shut off. she stated that the vehicle feels as if it will shut off while driving. in addition, one battery has already been replaced and the passenger side rear window will not roll up once it is down. the vehicle has been to the dealer five times, but the failures persist. the contact filed case number 71-530-566-719 with general motors. the current mileage was 34,000 and failure mileage was 29,000. updated 02/01/08. *lj
I had test drove my vehicle and it was perfect, the seat didn't move and the seats weren't electric. i went home returned to pickup vehicle and on the way the seats moved and became hot as though there was a heater in them. i mentioned it to the dealer a few days later and all he said, "we did not add anything to your vehicle". someone did, and i would like that which was installed removed whatever it is. *nm
