I noticed the gear shifter locked in placed where one can not move the unit from park to drive; i receive the shift to park message on the vic visual information center. i believed there was a recall on the same car in the 2006 cadillac sts; the shift to park error message also comes on after driving and unable to turn the unit off (red lights of course) until the battery dies. no recall
2007 cadillac sts. consumer writes in regards to a thumping and tugging sound from the front tires. *tgw the dealer stated the belts were starting to separate. also, the transmission shift control assembly was replaced. *jb
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 cadillac sts. the contact stated that the differential seal did not meet gm's specifications for the 2007 model sts. the vehicle dragged during acceleration. when he shifted into reverse, the differential jammed and prevented the vehicle from moving. the contact also experienced difficulty maintaining proper control of the vehicle. he received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign id number 07v589000 (power train:axle assembly:axle shaft:seal). the vehicle was taken to a dealer and they stated that they would get to him when they could. when the vehicle jammed, it threw the occupants forward and injured the contact's 4-year old child. the current mileage was 16,515 and failure mileage was 16,485.
Excessive shifting from 5th to 4th and 4th to 5th gears in automatic mode, a chuckle or shudder when in 5th gear and adding light acceleration. *ak
