We have classified the 118 complaints from 2015 Cadillac SRX about EXTERIOR LIGHTING into the following categories.
Headlight moisture is causing very poor visibility. in march of 2019, i received a letter stating that my vehicle was part of a class action lawsuit and that if i wanted to have the headlights replaced, i could by paying out of my pocket and then would be reimbursed. the class action lawsuit was for 2011 - 2015 models. my vehicle is 2015. at the time that i received the letter, there was no visible signs of a problem, checked by myself and my husband who is very good with cars. now, less than 1 year later, i can't even tell when my headlights are on. if i am not driving on a road that has street lights, i cannot see. it's a serious safety issue. given that i mainly travel on roads that have street lights, i was unaware of the deteriorated situation until very recently. i contacted cadillac who offered me no solution aside from taking it in to get it diagnosed at a cost to me. then i am supposed to call them back so that they can see what they can do, no promises of any type of monetary reimbursement. so basically, i got nowhere with cadillac who seems to be more concerned with their bottom line than safety. the class action lawsuit should have been a recall. think of it this way, 2011 owners had a long enough time to see that the headlights/covers would eventually get moisture in them causing the problem, but 2015 owners had a much shorter window of time. the cost to replace them is about $1500, which i didn't spend given that when i received the letter, there was no issue. this is a serious safety issue that occurs gradually over time and needs to be addressed by way of a recall so that cadillac has no choice but to resolve the issue and back their product by making the situation right. taking the safety of cadillac owners as a serious matter as opposed to trying to save money by not doing a voluntary recall.
The headlights on my cadillac srx are very dim. it is almost impossible to drive in the dark without using the brights. a class action law suit has been handled in california and florida but nothing done anywhere else. i filed a complaint with cadillac but was told that they are aware of the situation and in the planning process for the remedy. per my research, the headlights are allowing moisture to get inside which is causing damage to the lights and wiring. the lights are not out but just go dim. i asked the dealership and the cadillac customer service representative if replacing the bulb would help and they stated that the entire unit would have to be replaced. at this point, my lights are so dim that it is becoming nearly impossible to drive in the dark in unlit areas. i was hoping that cadillac would show responsibility for this issue but it appears they are waiting on your department to issue a recall. per the dealership, this issue could cost between $1800-$3000 to fix and they are well aware of the problem. i am not familiar with the process and in no way think that one complaint merits a recall but it is my hope that your department, or the governing agency, will look into this ongoing issue. it is a major safety concern for myself and many others. please let me know if i can provide any more information. i would like to be helpful in hopes of getting this issue fixed without spending thousands of my own money.
The headlights on this car are extremely dim, when driving at night where there are no street lights, it is as if i have no headlights on at all. i drive river road home nightly and i have nearly missed my turn onto the street and into a ditch because it is so dark. i spoke with the service department about this and they acknowledged that there is a problem with these headlights.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. the contact stated that the luminescence from the headlamps were inadequate for safe night time driving. the vehicle was taken to cable dahler located at (1151 w. 104th st. kansas city, mo) where the vehicle was diagnosed that the head light assembly was defective and needed to be replaced. the vehicle repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. the approximate failure mileage was 53,000.*bf*jb
I just purchased this car on 1/25/2020. it was daylight when i paid for it and drove it 2 hours to home with low beam lights that made driving very hazardous. i would have returned it if they had still been opened and i hadn't paid cash. please recall this before someone dies on virginia county roads and a wrongful death suite is filed.
When driving at night the lights are so dim i can't see anything and i almost wrecked and hit a curb with my kids in the car and i just recently bought my vehicle on jan 7th 2020 and it's now jan 24 2020
While operating the 2015 srx4 last night on an interstate then two lane state road in a light rain, the low beam headlights barely illuminated the roadway. the brights were fine but when meeting oncoming traffic and switching to low beam, it was if the lights were not working at all. there were several times that i could not even see the painted lines on the side of the road. it was extremely dangerous and unsettling. today i find online that there are numerous complaints about the low beams being unacceptable and dangerous. i concur. the poor quality of lighting will end up causing an accident or getting someone killed. this appears to be a known problem to cadillac and gm.
While driving, headlights are so dim at night that it is difficult to see a short distance ahead on city treets or highways. apparently moisture gets into the light fixture. cadillac had a recall for it for 90 days. the problem didn't occur until months after it closed. recall claim 1022551. it should have been a required recall or at least open if the issue occurred.
The headlights on my car are very dim. it is difficult to see anything at night without the brights. the brights do operate normally. i have changed the bulbs to halogen type at my own expense but it did not make a difference. the left light seems dimmer than the right one but both are very dim. this is a terrible safety issue. i have contacted gmc dealer and their only solution is to change the headlight assemblies at great cost over $2000 with the same assemblies that have failed. reading problem descriptions online i find that the light assembly seals are bad and water enters the "sealed" assembly thereby causing condensation that dims the lights.
2015 srx headlight issue in january 2020, we noticed that the low beams on our vehicle no longer cast sufficient light to be able to adequately see the road at night. the beams are so dim there is no discernible difference between the lights being on, or off when on the low beam setting. the high beams appeared to be unaffected. i began researching the issue on line and learned that the 2010 to 2016 srx models all had this design and manufacturing defect. according to multiple reports and explanations, including information derived from class action lawsuits, the headlight assemblies, which are supposed to be sealed, were designed and constructed in a way that allows moisture to accumulate inside the sealed assembly, causing multiple problems that result in low beam failure. it appears that additional class action suits have been filed. i have not found any details on those additional suits. given that this is a known, recurring, serious safety problem with this vehicle, nhtsa should immediately investigate this issue, publish its findings and take whatever action is appropriate to coerce gm to fix the design and manufacturing issues with these headlight assemblies, and replace them on all affected vehicles through a nationwide recall at no expense to owners of its srx vehicles. see attached, more coimplete description.
The headlights on low beam have become so dull to create a safety issue with limited visibility. mechanic claims that the bulbs ar ok and doesn't know why. i have seen many other people having the same complaint and feel that gm should issue a recall to correct.
While driving after dark, headlights were very low brightness. i could barely see the road lines and driving in the rain , i had to use my high beamsto see the highway road markings.
Headlights are almost non existent during night driving, first noticed driving at night on state highway 35 from bay city texas to palacios texas november 13 2019 during intermittent rain showers...had to use brights to get any down road illumination.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. while driving various speeds, the headlights were so dim that the contact could not see the road. shaheen cadillac (5901 s pennsylvania ave, lansing, mi 48911, (517) 393-5600) was contacted and stated that the failure was well known and informed the contact to bring the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the vehicle was not diagnosed and the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The low beam headlights are so dim its like you don't have any headlights on at all. the high beams work perfect. its very dangerous to be driving this vehicle at night since the lights don't work properly.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. while operating the vehicle, the low beam headlights illuminated very dimly, which created a visibility hazard to the driver. the cause of the failure was not determined. the manufacturer and cadillac norwood (700 providence hwy, norwood, ma 02062) were notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 41,000.
While driving on i-95 at night, with oncoming traffic, legally forbidding the use of hi-beams, a deer, i believe, suddenly crossed the road, 50-75 feet in front of my vehicle. the low beams on the vehicle are so poor i was unable to see the deer until it was directly in front of the vehicle. i had to slam on the brakes and violently swerve to the right, leaving the road surface in a sideways slide, crossing the shoulder and finally stopping on the grass, heading down hill, only inches from a post. this lack of efficient head lighting, now known to be from headlight unit seal failure leading to low light levels from the projectors, caused this accident. the passenger struck her head on the passenger window and suffered a bump and bruise to the right side of her head. it is now my understanding that mitigating this seal failure will cost me about $1600.00 at the cadillac dealer. additionally, i understand that the only replacement available from cadillac is the same unit that has failures and that no upgraded unit has been made. additionally, i understand that cadillac has been found liable in a class action suit regarding these faulty headlights in florida and california, however, not in my state of residence, although, coincidentally, my accident occurred in florida. these 300,000 vehicles need to be investigated from model years 2010 to 2016, as they all use the same halogen headlights. it is only a matter of time, unless already occurred, until loss of life is suffered from these inadequate headlight units. my partner, the primary driver of this vehicle, is now afraid to drive this car and will not drive it in any condition other than daylight, causing hardship on us.
I was driving down a city street at night at approximately 10 mph and my friend informed me that my head lights did not look like they were on at all. since this incident, i asked another friend to drive ahead of me on a dark city street and tell me if my lights were on. his response was, "yes they are, but very dim. i am very worried about you driving at night"!!
While driving my 2015 cadillac srx at night with my headlights on low beam the visibility is so bad that you might as well be driving with no headlights on at all. most of the time while driving at night i have to drive with my headlights on high beams all the time because if not i cannot see anything. we have replaced the bulb in our headlights several time and this did not fix the issue. we researched and did not find a recall about this, which was surprising because this is a huge safety hazard. this happens anytime the headlights are on, whether you are driving down the road, sitting in the vehicle in the driveway or parking lot at anytime when you turn the low beams on for the headlights the remain dim and does not project light enough range of light to be able to drive safely while the low beams are in use. very frustrating and nerve rattling.
I purchased a used 2015 srx cadillac in 2017 with 26,000 miles on it. progressively the headlamps (low beam) have gotten dimmer and dimmer to the point that i am now having to drive my car with the high beams on because i cannot see the road in front of my vehicle. the car is 4 yrs old now and has 70,000 miles. i travel frequently at night and i do not feel safe in this car now. if a person were walking along the road or a deer were to run in front of my vehicle even at an adequate distance for any other car i have ever driven, i would not see it in time to avoid an accident. i also fear running off the road because i can barely see the lines. i have contacted my dealer, and am waiting for a response. i have done a lot of research on this issue and many people are reporting this same issue with the srx models 2010-2016. they report issues on forums and some have even experienced rollovers and ending up in ditches due to limited visibility at night. many older people drive cadillacs and they have even had their dealership question their eyesight. there has been a class action suit about this issue, but apparently it has been dropped in all states but fl and ca. i work for a major truck manufacturer and i know that you are the government agency to involve on such serious safety issues as this. i hope that you will look into this issue as many forums have reports of people saying gm is up for a suit if they end up having a fatal crash from the dim lighting. i have also read that gm refuses to acknowledge the issue. even when the headlamps are replaced by the dealer, the issue is reported to return. i doubt the headlamp quality issue has ever been addressed with any kind of modification to resolve the issue by gm. read this forum for more reports of this issue http://gmauthority.com/blog/forum/cadillac-forum/. i trust your agency will seriously examine this issue.
My headlights are so dim i no longer feel safe driving at night and when i need to i drive with my brights on, which seems to upset a lot of other drivers. i have brought my vehicle to the dealership in regards to this issue and they said "yeah, we've had a lot of complaints about this but there is nothing we can do about it". why not? this is a huge safety issue! will it take a major car accident or two to get gm to fix this issue that a lot of other consumers are having? this is my first cadillac and if this is not resolved, it will certainly be my last. i have two teenage daughters that occasionally drive my vehicle and now they cannot at night time. for the price i paid for this vehicle i expect to be driving a cadillac that is safe and i do not think that is too much to ask to be fixed, at their cost.
The headlights are very dim making it very difficult to drive at night. this is very dangerous in areas that are not lit up. i can't tell where the edge of the road is and cannot see the center stripes on the road. i don't attempt to drive at night in the rain. this is an accident waiting to happen. i would like to enjoy my vehicle no matter the time of day or night, rain or shine. please correct this problem for all vehicles with this issue.
Headlights are extremely dim...very dangerous when driving on unlighted roads at night. we have to turn on the high beams in order to see the road. recently, we had the high beams on when driving on a dark interstate, and another driver, thinking we were being careless, tried to run us off the road. i have seen the hundreds of complaints from other srx owners about this. gm/cadillac needs to do what is right, and issue a recall, before someone is severely injured, or killed.
Headlights unsafe. i bought my 2015 srx new, and from the outset the low beam headlights were very dim. visibility is so poor that i can't safely drive my srx at night; my 4-year-old $50,000 srx has only 13,000 miles on it. the dealer quoted me ~$300 to replace with non-gm bulbs but can't guaranty that the problem will be fixed and won't give me any sort of warranty on the repair--even though my srx is still under factory warranty. in fact, every online review states that replacing the bulbs will not correct this issue. obviously, the defect goes beyond the bulb itself. this is a major safety issue and is a known issue with the srx. a simple google search returns thousands of customers complaining of this safety problem which gm fails or refuses to remedy. nhtsa, please intervene here and make gm permanently fix this defect, whether that means replacing the entire headlamp assembly, or new seals, or new bulbs with some sort of warranty. my safety, and that of my children and others on the road, is at great risk until this defect is corrected. [note, i had to select a date of occurrence, so i chose today's date; but this is an ongoing problem that started shortly after i purchased the vehicle in dec. 2015 and has gotten progressively worse over time.]
Headlamps have become very dim which causes an unsafe condition when driving at night. in order to see the road i must use high beams. i am constantly switching off the high beams when an oncoming car approaches. dealer has stated the problem is not the bulb but the projected lense in front of the bulb. the problem has gotten steadily worse.
Low beam headlights make it hard to see at night. the infotainment system works intermittently.
Dim headlights causing inability to see road at night.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. while driving 55 mph, the headlight illumination was dim and prevented the contact from driving at night. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to bob brady cadillac buick gmc (located at 1500 koester rd, forsyth, il 62535, (217) 875-2110), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 25,000.
I've had nothing but problems with this vehicle! the battery went out a week after i had it, the entire dash had to be replaced after a year, then the freaking headlights were so dim that i could not see at night. i had the bulbs changed twice and still could not see. took vehicle to dealership and they said the only way to fix it is to replace the entire headlight system, which cost me $1600! this is supposed to be a cadillac '.the best of the best!!! i will never buy one again!! the frank kent dealership in fort worth tx said that if i submit my request to cadillac, they may reimburse me, because they have done so with some customers in the past. here i am and i am submitting it to you! please help me! i am a single mother and need to get my money back!! contact me at [xxx]. my address is [xxx]. thank you! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Very bad visibility driving after dark. the headlights are very dim and it's difficult to see the road and surrounding area while driving at night. i've contacted a local auto repair shop and they stated this was a ongoing problem with the vehicle i drive. i purchased the vehicle used and no mention of the problem was given. i feel it's a safety hazard that can result in serious accidents. i currently drive using high beam which also causes a hazard. i live in a rural area with few lighted roads.
While driving the vehicle it stumps in the rear and also jolts in the fronts.
I have a 2015 srx cadillac with the front passenger head light very dim. it became dimmer over a period of time, causing you to not be able to see while driving at night and almost impossible to see at night during a rain storm. this is in my opinion is a major safety hazard/ issue
Low beam lights are horrible cannot see at night unless you use high beam lighting. dangerous for driver and oncoming traffic due to having to use high beams to see safely
When driving at night, it is nearly impossible to see with not only the lines in the road, but anything in the road! this is the most unsafe vehicle i've ever driven. when i have to use my brights to navigate my way, obviously those vehicles who pass me...as were as those in front of me ( less than 200 feet) get angry. they dont realize that it's more dangerous for me to drive with my brights off! i had other people try driving it as well both in town, and rural roads and the closest highway....and every person had the exact same results. a beautiful car with lemon headlights! i've had this car 3 weeks and am livid that nobody at the local cadillac dealer knew anything about these headlight problems with this car! i had gone through consumer reports, blue book values et ....i thought that i had adequately done my research! then... i googled 2015 cadillac srx headlights ! the information was all there...hundreds of complaints. class action suits and a recall on them in california! someone will be killed due to these lights.
The low-beam headlights are very dim. i asked the dealership's service department about it and was told that gm was aware of the faulty part (headlight assemblies with poor quality seals) and would reimburse me up to $1600 for replacing them with the same faulty part. i received a letter from cadillac that offered the reimbursement in exchange for waiving any future fix for the problem. on march 30, 2019 while driving on a highway with a curb, i hit a piece of wood that i couldn't see because of the dim headlights. hitting the wood caused the car to veer into the curb causing over $4000 damage to the vehicle. while looking for a possible fix for the problem on the internet, i have found that many owners of this model cadillac complain of the same problem. i also found that gm/cadillac has settled class action lawsuits in california and florida pertaining to this issue. obviously, this is a major safety issue that gm/cadillac is aware of yet they are not offering the owners a lasting remedy for the safety of the drivers. i have pictures and estimates for the damages but am unable to scan into this computer. i can send them separately from my phone. if needed, email me.
The drive shaft needed to be replaced at 65,000 miles. the headlights look like they are not on at night when you are driving. there have been 2 class action lawsuits won in california and florida for these defective headlights. i don't know why they would not include all the cars that had these headlights because they are all defective. if i would have known this i would not have bought the car. i have owned it 4 months and the touch screen cracked, driver assist seat control stopped working, the drive shaft needed to be replaced and the headlights do not look like they are on at night. i feel like i have to drive with my high beams just to see adequately and safely.
Takata recall while driving at night the headlights starting to be dim. i thought it was my eye site at first. last friday march 1, 2019 my husband was with me driving in rising sun maryland and it got real scary as we were driving and they went almost totally dark. i slowed to a crawl and hit my high beams just a second before i hit the oncoming car from the other direction. i was already across the line and going to hit the car. my high beams blinded the car coming toward me and they were screaming at me. it was like driving on a back road in a snow storm with no visibility. my husband would not let me drive back from dinner after being so upset. he drove and had to use the high beams, he said i have to tell you that was a very scary situation. when we parked for dinner the headlights turned a cloudy rainbow color. we had the light bulbs replaced and there is no difference. the dealer wants $1,000 to replace the headlight assembly to fix the problem. this car is in excellent condition , why should i have to pay $1,000 to replace this. i have seen the complaint sites and there seems to be a lot of people having this issue. this is not safe and you can not drive at night unless you want to take your life in your hands or the life of others when you have to drive with high beams. people are not happy when you do that and that could cause road rage issues. this car is not safe at night, please consider doing something about this. i will not put my grandkids in this car as i am too scared.
Lights on 2015 cadillac srx luxury trim are very dim...almost to the point where no light is seen at night. have been like that for over a year. i took it to the cadillac dealership to check for moisture issues and was told that was fine. it was just the headlights...and nothing could be done. dealership was very ineffective. light output continued to worsen to where they are now. i constantly drive with bright lights. i can't see lines or turning lanes without proper lighting. i have also dodged accidents a few times due to other cars not seeing my lights. at night, i do not feel safe driving. i fear for the safety of others as well. i have emailed and called numerous times to no avail. again, when driving with headlights that do not shine properly i can't see turning lanes and honestly my depth of vision is very low. things, animals, have happened on my car at the last minute due to lack of lighting.
Just bought a 2015 srx cadillac on feb 16, 2019. test drove during the day, but by the time all was done it was night. driving home and 1/10 of a mile out, i pulled over to see if the lights were on. they were, so i continued to drive. all along convincing myself it must be because i went from a car to suv and it was my perception of sitting up higher. i believe i was so hoping since i had just signed a 'no waiting time' and ' as is' contract plus purchasing gap and extended warranty for over $3000 more! well, it is not my perception from a different level! i drove again and not only are the bulbs projecting different level of brightness( if u call it 'bright') but neither makes it where the road is safely visible. i had it in the dealership shop three days after purchase to fix the cue problem (dealership taking care of that) and asked to check headlights. i thought they changed bulbs and all was well since ivwas told they checked them and all was good to go. not. i have written cadillac via email and i have notified the buick dealer where i bought the vehicle. after purchasing (big mistake i've learned the hard way) and this problem emerged, i searched internet and this is a common problem. i'm hoping cadillac or the buick dealership will help resolve this unsafe issue. if not, not sure what i will do without having to trade it in and probably lose $$ go with a different brand of car!! headlights (low beams) are too dim to see the road!
Headlights are very dim on highway. according to gerry lane cadillac service center, 10945 reiger road, baton rouge, la 70809, 225-297-5377, replacing bulb will make only minor improvements. bulb projector lenses are cloudy. according to dealership, it is a common problem for the vehicle model. it requires replacement of both headlamp assemblies. according to the dealership, all owners should have received a certificate to pay for replacement of assemblies. i did not. *js
I recently purchased a 2015 cadillac srx luxury crossover suv (50,000 miles). i noticed while driving at night, that the headlights barely illuminate the road. i contacted my local cadillac dealership and spoke with service department personnel that informed me that this issue was systemic throughout the 2010-2015 year srx models. this problem is so consistent throughout such similar models, and yet i am suppose to shell out $1300 to fix a known issue? i am willing to pay to replace the lamps but gm needs to do their part and fix the faulty component (that is their responsibility) that is causing dangerous driving conditions and constant issues with the vehicle.
Purchased from a dealership in ga front headlights seemed to be working at night, noticed they were very dim, but continued to drive at night alternating brights. took vehicle to dealership recently after almost being hit at night and once in the rain, a car turned in front of me twice at night like they didn't even see me because now i realize they couldn't! i was told whole system would have to be replaced before mechanic even looked at vehicle. googled srx headlight issue and came up with lawsuit info because of this same situation. i cannot drive this vehicle at night it is a safety hazard and must use my bright lights, which causes other cars not to be able to see. the dealer gave me a quote for 1400 dollars for repair which i refuse to pay.
The low beam headlights make it extremely dangerous to drive this vehicle at night. purchased this car one week ago. first trip out at night and was frightened beyond belief. it is like driving with no headlights. cadillac or gm has got to face this problem before someone is killed. we paid well for this vehicle and buyers should not have to foot the bill for a defect!! i will be happy to enter into a class action suit against either cadillac or gm to force this hazard to be dealt with.
Purchased factory certified 2015 cadillac srx 11/2018. in 12/2018 one dim headlight stopped working. in 1/2018 2nd dim headlight quit working makin it difficult to see without bright lights. fog lamps also stopped working. truly a safety matter. search of internet shows many other srx's with same problem with no factory fix. class action suit filed in california only. problem is moisture entering housing where bulbs are mounted. cadillac dealer could not state why dim headlights and fog lights don't work. makes driving hazardous when bright headlights can't be used. dim headlights and fog lights do not work at all.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 cadillac srx. the contact stated that the low beam headlights failed to produce adequate lighting. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to kevin whitaker chevrolet (2320 laurens rd, greenville, sc 29607, (864) 297-0011) where it was diagnosed that the headlamp assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 9-5454139288. no further assistance was provided. the failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The low beams on this vehicle create a driving hazard at night. there literally are hundreds of complaints just by doing a google search. see also carproblemzoo.com gm/cadillac has no fix. the lights do not project properly and in dark areas you can't tell at times that the lights are working. gm should be required to fix this issue. i replaced the halogen lights with new halogens and no difference. i then upgraded halogens to led bulbs with a minimal fix. please take these issues seriously. people have written online that they cannot drive the vehicle at night. the only safe measure is to drive with high beams, which is not possible. this problem is systemic with the luxury edition cadillac srx. i think it's the lens or electrical. i think this is the reason that the 2016 srx has hid headlights. numerous websites indicate complaints from drivers who say that the cadillac dealerships acknowledge the issue but also say that gm has not issued a fix. dealerships want hundreds of dollars up to over a thousand dollars to fix it, but they also state that the fix might not work. please investigate this. it is truly a serious safety issue. please hold gm accountable. thank you for your time and consideration. this problem occurs when driving. it is extremely difficult to see the road and to see people walking across the street and to see paint lines. the lights do not project solidly and widely as do other makes of vehicles on the road. i am taking my car to the dealership on 2/2/19 to ask them to assess the situation.
The next area of concern was entering the car dealership (trapp cadillac in houma, louisiana) on 12/28/2018 to have the headlights changed. the cost of this change/replacement was $942.94 for the labor. the dealership did, however, warranty the headlights. made the headlamps good, but refuse to honor the labor(see attached) when driving at night/raining days the lights were so dim visibility was almost impossible for safe driving. there was a serious problem with the headlights on my cadillac. i chose for the safety of my family and others this problem must be addressed immediately by professionals.
The headlights are very dim it makes it difficult to see at night. it seems as if the headlights are not on at all at night. it's a safety issue and we are afraid to drive the car at night. upon talking to the dealership and calling cadillac customer service, they told me they are aware of the problem but that there is no fix for it.
I purchased this vehicle used in november 2018 from the local lexus dealer. i didn't drive it at night prior to taking a trip in december 2018 when i left early in the morning in a rainstorm. i was shocked that i couldn't see a thing and thought it was just the rain. later i discovered it was the headlights that were extremely dim. i contacted the local cadillac dealer who knew about the problem affecting this year and other srx models. they said they could replace the entire housing, etc but that the problem comes back. they said they could not replace with halogen or other after market parts since they are not cadillac parts. they asked that i let them know if halogen lights would fix the problem if i go that route. how on earth could this car not be recalled to fix the problem? this situation is just plain dangerous and cannot be safely driven at night when lights are needed!!
The headlights are extremely dim, afraid to drive at night because i can't see around or in front of me without using my high beams, its very dangerous. i feel that its a safety issue. i have also read that others have the same issues and cadillac has not corrected the problem, i also read that there was class action suits in flordia and california because of this problem.
