Our low beam headlamps are dim. we bought the car in may 2015, then left the area. we took it in for routine service three months later and complained about them. we were under bumper to bumper warranty for 50,000 miles. we were told that's just the way they are. we took it in to other dealerships as we traveled and were told the same thing. after 9 different times over 2 1/2 years, we finally insisted they be checked, after our warranty had recently expired. then they confirmed there was an internal fault with the lamps and they need to be replaced, at a cost of $1,100. we contacted gm with our complaint. the best they will do is install them for free, but we have to pay over $800 for new lamps. we have since learned there is a class action suit starting because this is a huge problem for many. we literally cannot see at night or before daylight without using our high beams. we now will replace them ourselves with after market parts but that's not a guarantee that will fix the problem. we saw a number of complaints on your website. what makes us angry is that we were literally blown off with our complaint 9 times at various dealerships (attachment has all these documented) before a dealership said they had just diagnosed this problem with another customer after she insisted the service advisor drive it home one night. it is a safety hazard and a defect. we assure you, cadillac is aware of it. there are a lot of us driving unsafely. we try to avoid driving at night or dusk but that's not always possible.

The headlights have been dim from the time we bought the car, but have become dimmer over the past months. it is hard to see at night on a well lit street and just about impossible on a dark neighborhood street. i am afraid that this will lead to an accident and injury. the problem is getting worse. i feel the need to drive with the brights on all the time now.

The headlights suddenly dimmed while driving at night to a point where it was not safe to drive. i installed new bulbs twice, and it didn't help.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. the contact stated that the headlights on the vehicle were inoperable. the vehicle was taken to dorman cadillac gmc (1000 interstate dr, dunn, nc) where it was diagnosed that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vin was unknown. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

The head lights are very dim.this is an ongoing daily issue. the issue cannot be remedied by changing the bulbs alone. there is very now visibility at night unless the high beams are used which distracts oncoming traffic. this issue is experienced in all driving settings, city, highway, country roads. it is most pronounced when driving in dimly lit country roads.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. the contact stated that the low beam headlamps were not bright enough to safely navigate the vehicle while driving at night. the vehicle was taken to buick gmc cadillac fort walton beach (329 miracle strip pkwy sw, fort walton, fl) where it was diagnosed that the headlamp harness was inadequate and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered a discount for the repair because there were no recalls. the failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Headlights too dim to drive at night unless high-beams are used. took to dealer and they wanted $1800 to change both headlight assemblies. apparently the bulb reflectors had discolored and reduced the light output.

I bought this car used in august, 2017. i am unable to drive the vehicle at night due to the low beams being dim. does gm plan to replace these bulbs? i cannot drive it for fear of accident, hitting a deer or someone not seeing my vehicle.

The low beam lights on the cadillac srx 2013 barely shows up as lit. when driving at night there doesn't appear to be any lights on at all. makes for a dangerous situation.

The low beam headlights are ridiculous! i am unable to drive my child to school in the early morning before the sun rises. this is a safety issue yjat cadillac is well aware of, yet they do nothing! i guess they will wait until someone gets killed and ate in court before theybrecall their crappy ' high end' vehicle. they should be ashamed!

Headlights are a safety hazard due to how dim they are. can't see road and other vehicles cant see me

The headlights on this vehicle are dangerously dim. i have spoken to numerous owners who suggested the same issue. the dealerships want to charge over $2000.00 to correct this and it is not clear that replacing these lights with the same lights will repair the issue. this needs government action or people will get hurt.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 cadillac srs. the contact stated that the headlights of the vehicle were very dim and made it difficult to see the road while driving at night. the vehicle was taken to twin city buick gmc dealer, (3046 alcoa hwy, alcoa, tn 37701, (865) 238-0392) and was diagnosed that the headlamp assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

The low beam headlights are extremely dim. while driving at night i have to use the high beams, although cautiously, so as not to blind oncoming drivers. if there is a car behind me, i cannot see the road in front of my car at all; in fact, i see the shadow of my car in front of me. this is extremely unsafe and has not been recalled by cadillac. to replace the headlights is about $1500 and is not guaranteed to improve the dim light situation. i have to drive at night and it's frightening. why is nothing being done about this? there are thousands of complaints logged on the internet. is the government going to intervene on our behalf? what recourse do we have? at this point, i don't believe it should be up to individual owners to pursue restitution. please step in and do something! i bought this car from a cadillac dealer in april of 2017.

Low beams are very, very dim. i find it hard to drive at night and often drive my wife's outback at night specially if raining!

The headlights on the 2013 cadillac are seriously dim. it is an extreme hazard to drive this vehicle at night without using the high beam head lights. with low beams headlights, i am at risk of accident or injury. with high beam headlights, i will put other drivers at risk of accident or injury. how has this issue not been handled by nhtsa by now? if nhtsa is truly "people helping people", getting this issue addressed by cadillac should be easy. bulbs have been replaced and made little or no difference. headlight replacement is well over a $1,000.00 at dealer. new headlights will also start to deteriorate as soon as they are used due to a design flaw in the lights. we bought this car used in 2016 and started to notice how dim the headlights were becoming. everywhere we turn, there has been no remedy offered.

My wife and i own a 2013 cadillac srx and when we use the low beam headlights they don't provide enough illumination to allow us to see the highway, forcing us to use the high beams but we have to switch back to low beams when we approach a vehicle or come within a couple car lengths behind. i have been on the internet reading about how this has been an ongoing problem with this model cadillac. this is my first cadillac and i will have to say will be my last. supposedly all dealers are forcing the owners to absorb the repair cost themselves ($1500.00 to $1700.00) i have yet to take my vehicle back to the dealer and doubt seriously if my extended warranty with cost gard will do any good. i'm really surprised at the response that gm has taken on this very dangerous problem. we dread driving the car at night, we are constantly having to drive with our high beams on. would you please investigate this problem

The headlights on my 2013 cadillac srx are too dim to drive vehichle at night . this is a know problem and should be fixed by gm. i have replaced bulbs but did not help.

Headlights do not emit enough light while driving at night. it is very difficult to view the roads during night time driving. it is very dangerous to drive at night. warranty wont cover to fix issue. there are a lot of complaints about this issue and they have not recalled the car to fix.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 cadillac srx. the contact stated that the headlights were inoperable, which made it difficult to drive the vehicle. the contact mentioned that the headlights were not bright and the high beam headlights had to be used while driving at night. the vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle was not under warranty, and that changing the light bulbs would only be a temporary repair. the contact was also informed that moisture entered the headlamps, which caused a short in the circuit. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vin and failure mileage were unknown.

Purchased car 1 year ago and cant drive it when its darkout due to poor headlight visability on low beam, highbeamis really good, low beam is like you dont have head lights on. drove it at 5 am and almost wrecked twice not being able to see the road where i was driving. second issue there was a recall for but it came up that i had no recalls at this time. nhsta 14132 gm 14132. does not do this all the time but frequently like this am when i was driving it, has done this also since i bought car a year ago.

Low beams on headlights provide extremely poor illumination producing barely 10-15' barely lit roadway. dealer acknowledges problem by visual observation but says 'computer' says acceptable. checked internet and found numerous complaints on 2013 and 2014 models. extremely dangerous on dark roads with little or no street lighting. help

Headlights are so dim that i have to drive with brights on continuously at night. when oncoming traffic signals me by blinding me, i switch to dims and have to guess at where the road is. this is unacceptable. the vehicle was brought in while still under basic warranty. problem not resolved. i even purchased an extended warranty. no help there either. i am paying for a vehicle that i cannot safely drive at night. no way i can let my kids use this vehicle at night. i am deeply disappointed.

I have a 2013 srx with the external headlight issue of very dangerously dim lighting on low beam. i can barely see a few feet in front of me on low beam. i have taken it to the dealership and they tell me there is no fix. i have called cadillac customer service and they said there is no fix. this is definitely a safety hazard. it looks as if it will take the death of an individual or several before something is done.

Headlights exterior housing units wear out or deteriorate allowing moisture to accumulate and condense from the air that flows through their vents.i cant see at night and its a safety issue for me and my family.

Low beam headlights are very dim night driving is very dangerous. replaced bulbs with little or no results. this is a common problem that cadillac will not address. the reflectors in headlight assembly are defective.

The headlights on my vehicle at night are terrible...it is almost like there not on, very dim..i am afraid to drive at night with this vehicle....i have to use high beams, but have to lower when a car approches..

Dim lights are working at about 20 percent.

The low lights are so low that you can not see at night. the brights are fine. i replaced the filaments and put in stronger blubs, but the low lights are still not adequate for night driving. this started in june 2016.

Can not see with low beams at night. also, the screen freezes on the "cue" display

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 caddiliac srx. the contact stated that the exterior headlamps had not emitted enough light while driving. the contact stated that it was difficult to view the roads during night time due to the failure. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the headlights were replaced however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 40,000. the vin was not provided.

The low beam headlights are extremely dim and make night driving difficult if not impossible due to safety. this appears to be a known defect in this model vehicle but cadillac will not acknowledge. the halogen bulbs have been replaced three times but it does not help remedy the problem. the mechanic stated that the issue is with the design of the reflector in the lighting assembly and that the whole headlight assembly has to be replaced to rectify the problem. this is a very expensive solution for the consumer and one which is because of an apparent design flaw according to the cadillac mechanic.

My low beam headlights have become very very dim. have had to replace the bulbs twice. i have to drive with high beams in order to see safely at night. this is a known defect in these cars, but cadillac has not issued a recall.

The lights on this car have been an issue from the time of purchase! first we thought the lights needed to be adjusted. dealership told us they are adjusted perfectly. i cannot drive this car at night! i will kill someone or myself! contacted dealership again & was told they could meet us halfway for replacement. cadillac is very aware of this. i've researched this problem & know other owners have the same problem. i tell everyone not to purchase a cadillac because they do not stand behind their flaws. i want to include my name so that when my husband has to bury me from getting killed in an accident he will have proof that the complaint was made to our government as well as numerous times to the dealership. it is going to take the death of one or more persons and an outrageous negligent lawsuit for gm to get on board with this problem. i've even made a file for my husband to access to give to attorney upon my death. thank you gm, at least my husband will be able to buy a new ford! sincerely, [xxx] car was purchased from ron taylor cadillac in houston,tx information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *cw *tr

The headlights on this vehicle are so dim at night its dangerous. when on a dark road sometimes i wonder if the headlights are even on. my husband drives on a dark road full of wildlife and the way the head lights are he will never see one if it runs in front of him at night. this needs to be recalled and fixed now! and not at the owners expense, its a cadillac for goodness sakes!
