Dangerous loss of power while accelerating on the highway! there have been three separate incidences over the last 2 years. while i was trying to accelerate on the highway, the car severely lost power and the "check engine" light started flashing. the car seemed to operate normally after turning off and on the engine. the dealership claimed that there was no computer records of problems after each incidence. acura just issued a recall of the fuel pump on this model year mdx. however, acura and the local acura dealership refused the repair due to the lack of computer record of failure.
Acura mdx 2017 bought brand new. has shut off completely 5 times in the last 60days. 3 times in the last 2 days. come to a stop, entire car shuts off along with electronics. occured the last three times at an intersection waiting to turn left or at a red light. . can't move. have to restart the car. dangerous. i've taken it to acura and they say nothing is wrong. service tech told me another mdx owner is having same issue.
The 2017 acura mdx has an unintended sudden acceleration failure condition. this analysis provides evidence of this issue, and the subsequent communications with acura client relations which ended with a refusal to acknowledge the issue. the purpose of this document is to provide data and evidence in order to influence acura to initiate a root cause analysis; with the objective of implementing a solution for all affected vehicles.
