In october of 2018, both my right side hatch/lid tail light assembly and body tail light assembly filled with water rendering them both inoperative. dealer replace both hatch and body tail light which i paid for out of pocket. dealer service manager reported that both light assemblies had scratches which allowed water to penetrate even though no scratches were evident. after replacement, i requested that the original failed lights be given back to me. after inspection there were no scratches or defects. the gaskets however were loose and worn. subsequently, the hatch/lid tail light assembly was covered by recall due to water penetrating inside the lends. acura dealer again replace/repaired both hatch tail lights per recall. the body tail lights were not under recall and were not repaired even though one had to be replace earlier due to same water issue.body tail lights/gasket is also defective. gaskets/lights need to be recalled and replaced/repaired.
Headlight assembly leaking and holding water causing degraded illumination and short circuit hazard. this is known recall issue with acura tsl headlight assembly and acura mdx tail lamps, both made of similar construction.
First, many new vehicles install halogen head lamps, some of them are white in color. these head lamps are exceptionally bright. i live in california where there is law restricting the brightness of these lamps. i strongly believe that some of these head lamps are overly bright because it blinds my eyes at night. one model in particular is the new 2013, 2014 prius. i wonder if they pass the requirement of law of all the states. second, most of the models manufactured by acura and mercedes benz installed frog lights and by default, the frog is turned on without the head lamp. this violates law in california. i am not sure where to file complain, but hope you can redirect to the appropriate party. this concerns drives safety. thank you very much. *tr
